This text is great. I bought this and the Incredibly Quick reference. I am using them to get a head start on my nursing degree. And frankly I can't tell you how thrilled I am with them. Unlike other text which drag on and on and on, this text is actually FUN to read. I would suggest this to anyone who is apprehensive about starting a program. You will enjoy reading this, gain knowledge and thus be confident when you begin your program. I also suggest the Anatomy and Phys book and work book for ANY student studying the subject!

GREAT PRODUCT for class prep too

The previous reviewer was disappointed in the product, but they are not using it for its full potential. Springhouse just put out the Maternal Neonatal Incredibly Easy book and that's what the previous reviewer should have purchased if they wanted supplemental info for classroom work (gee, didn't they notice the description said it was a CD-ROM?!). This product is EXCELLENT not only for those students getting ready for HESI and NCLEX, but it IS an asset to those going through their nursing coursework. The product has 1000 questions catagorized within the major units of the subject of maternal and neonatal nursing. Students can access those subtopics pertaining to the material they are going over in class to use as a study aid when preparing for classroom tests. I am using the Phamacology book and CD-ROM to help me survive through Pharm this semester. What an asset! The Incredibly Easy series (books AND test question CD-ROMs) are great helps to get you through nursing school.

If you are a expecting a book with information this is not the product for you. However, if you are expecting a disc with many NCLEX style questions this product could be useful. I was wanting a review type book to augment my maternal-neonatal nursing class. I plan on keeping this product for future NCLEX review but it is not helpful for the typical student.

Excellent books for reference. I used this book to review for the test and I got "A" for this subject. I recommend this book for the new nursing students.

This was my required textbook for my Nursing School program. It is very lamen's terms which is great because you don't feel like it is over your head. You also don't need a supplemental medical dictionary to comprehend what's being read as I usually would need for other books. The only thing I don't like is that the book jumps topics alot and you have to read other chapters to puzzle together what you've just read.

Babies are like busses.

Emma and James have waited ages for one to turn up, then two come together. Not twins - but an adorable Russian tot called Yuri, and an as-yet-unnamed bump already wreaking it's special brand of havoc.

Emma and James are overwhelmed by the crying, the crankiness, the fitful sleeping, the fussy feeding - and that's just the new mother . . .
On top of that they are juggling the Queen of Interfering Mothers, the brother marrying An Unsuitable Bride, the combustible best friend with a broody husband, and the outrageous sister who'll do anything for fame and fortune.

Emma and James are ecstatic at being parents at last but sometimes wish that it was all a bit less . . . frantic!

Not as great as the first two- but a nice conclusion to the trilogy *may contain spoilers*

I enjoyed this book. Not as much as the first two but enjoyed it nonetheless.
The only thing i didn't like was the ending. Whilst what happened with the baby- i won't give it away- i felt was appropriate as it fit the whole idea of the road to parenthood being hard, i disliked the final page as i felt it didn't give enough material for what happened next. I would have liked to learn more about how Emma found life with two children or some nice, happy diologue. I felt quite sad when the book ended.
I must say i did enjoy the triology and would recommend it, i'm just sad that's it!

"From Here to Maternity" is the third book written by author Sinead Moriarty, and I sad to say that it was the not as good as her first two books. At this point Emma and James Hamilton have adopted Yuri from Russia and now expecting there own child. Emma, who came off as a good character in the first two books is not that interesting, and most of the books seem to deal with the actions of her crazy sister Babs. After reading "From Here to Maternity" I can say that I should have waited for the paperback instead of the hardback.

Hilarious! If you are looking for a good read centered around "the truth" behind parenting..........this is it! Susan Konig tells it like it is, and this forty-something mother of 8 found it the perfect way to end the summer!!

Funny lady, funny book

This is the second book by Susan Konig. The first one was "Why Animals Sleep so Close to the Road (And Other Lies I Tell My Children"), a book I enjoyed so much I gave away at least twenty copies to friends and clients.

The new book is equally good - a light, breezy, funny, read about life if you're a suburban lady journalist, 40 something, with a comedian-entertainer husband, three children, and #4 on the way.

Like most humor books, this is a rapid read, with 205 pages divided into 44 chapters (and epilogue). Some of the chapters are an absolute scream, like (my personal favorite) the 36 hour trip to the "pampering spa" with just the hubbie..., or the leaking ceiling in the children's bedroom....

All great fun. I'll be getting another box of these to give away!

A lot of info in one place...outdated contraceptive information
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2007-04-16
I bought this from the publisher along with the audio tapes because a friend had a good experience using their Acute Care Nurse Practitioner review. The audio tapes are WAY outdated and frustrating (and in CASSETTE format?! I had to go buy a walkman to listen to them)...the instructor on them doesn't know what Plan B is. The purple workbook itself is great in that there is a comprehensive review of the majority of info you need to know in one place and has review questions at the end of each chapter. The bad: It was published in 2004 so 1. The STD tx guidelines are outdated, 2. The contraceptive information is outdated: they have info on Lunelle & Norplant, but no Plan B and nothing about the black box info on Orthoevra, and 3. The HRT guidelines are outdated. The ACNM's 2007 review book isn't out until next month so I'm glad I have this to study for my comp exams but my guess is I'll probably supplement my study materials for the boards with the ACNM book as I'm nervous I may be getting misinformation from this book in areas I'm not even aware of.

This book is about the seasons of motherhood and family life with all kinds of humor, pathos, paradox, etc. I read it in one sitting because it intriqued me so much. I have given it as a shower gift and to grandmothers and they have all loved it! By the way, the book wasn't written in 1940! It's a contemporary book and the author's name is Kathleen "Casey" Null

Couldn't put it down!

"A Second Chance" by Tara Taylor Quinn. They were high school sweethearts who went their separate ways though she was pregnant. Now the adult daughter Kylie that Melanie gave up for adoption over three decades ago has contacted her and wants to meet her biological father Denny even as Melanie ponders being pregnant again at forty-eight.

"Prompted to Mom" by Karen Rose Smith. Pregnant April is heading to California as she has a major employment opportunity in the Golden State. The father of her child Braden owns a restaurant in Oklahoma, which he prefers not to leave. There appears no room for compromise between this loving couple.

"On Angel's Wings" by Inglath Cooper. They had the perfect family as Rachel and Clay loved one another and their daughter. However, when their child died, their relationship collapsed too. That is until a Russian angel enters their lives needing both of them and giving them a second chance if they dare to take it.

Though seemingly more like a Next tale, these mature couples struggle with difficult relationship issues made even more complex by children. Fans of family dramas will enjoy this collection.

From the back cover:

Independent rancher Rafe Maitland had never met his wealthy relatives--and planned to keep it that way. But when matriarch Megan Maitland's lovely personal assistant arrived on his doorstep, determined to ensure his presence at the family reunion, Rafe showed he could be as demanding and crafty as any other Maitland. Because the price for his company was a marriage of convenience--and all to keep custody of the little girl he'd inherited...

And my review:

This was quite an enjoyable book. Not outstanding, and not awful, just average. I liked the way the author was able to write good sexual tension without having the book become an overpowering, flying hormone lust-fest.

One major problem with this book is that, because it's a part of a series, much of this book cannot stand on its own. The romance was successfully concluded, but a lot of loose ends were left hanging - presumably to be tied up in another book. That was kind of annoying if you're not planning to read the other books in the series.

This is very nice for Nursing students (I am a student so I can't say if an RN working would like it or not) but.....if you buy the Med/Surg book from this company, a CD comes with it and the CD contains the info in this book. My suggestion, if you need both, would be to get the Med/Surg book.

Also, the edition comes with a Disk not a CD and it is not as nice as the CD.
