I bought this bible for my wife a few years back, and it has become our favourite bible.
The content of the NIV Study bible is well known and liked.
My wife and I find the notes at the bottom of each page help us gain greater understanding of what the verses mean.
The Bible Book introductions also help us understand the context the books were written in.

We are also particualry impressed with the quality of the presentation of this edition. The bonded leather cover is very smart, and the feature that I find most useful is the thumb-index system which helps me turn directly to within three books of where I want to go. This has made it much easier for me to use the bible.

I have been looking around for a study bible for some time now for a gift. After talking to many people and doing a little research myself, I have found the NIV Study Bible to be the most helpfull in unfolding the Word of God.

By far the most well done modern language Bible. I am a Youth Leader at a church in the midwest, part of a middle school ministry of over 600, and have found this Bible to be significantly more relevant, and comprehensible for the postmodern church. In my opinion while it remains mostly undiscovered it will assume the position of THE Bible of the Postmodern Era, much like the NIV became the bible of the modern era. I use it in conjunction with the NASB, ESV, and NLT (the primary four translations I use. For study I use the NASB, and then use the ESV, NLT, and NCV to teach from). Coming from a person that speaks to large groups and small, I find that the general populace latches onto it very quickly. I bought a this compact edition for my small group (which for some reason never remains small, now having 35 members, after our 5 division since october of 04). I have begun to notice that they come back with a lot of highlighting and underlining, which I see as a good sign.

This is the best Bible I have ever read. It's about time we get the original word of God, the true translation.
The Catholics have done enough by taking out and adding their own words not of God. I'm just so happy I came across this Bible and I reccommend it to everyone. Word for word in God's word, how he spoke the word.

If you are looking for a nice travel size New American Standard Holy Bible with very readable print and indexed this is it.

This combination of Vines and the New King James Version was the best bible Nelson Bible Publishers ever came up with. Too bad they quickly discontinued it. The quality also seems to be better than on your standard Nelson Bible. They had a good thing, I guess they wanted to sell the "Nelson Study Bible" instead and this might have taken some of it's sales.

I found the Vine's expository reference edition informatible, concise, and easy to read.

If you are interested in obtaining one of these Bibles...go for it, you will not be disappointed. Besides the content (KJV and commentary and photos, etc.), the quality of the binding is also of great merit. A very dark brown leather, so nicely made, and the font, therein, is rich and dark on great paper. Because of the yellow highlighting throughout to show where Pastor Oral Roberts made comments (that are in the back and easy to find), the words of Jesus in the NT are bolder than the other font; yet, all the fonts are amazingly readable. Truly, this is a great Bible for any age as far as ease of reading.
It seems that those who have one have made it their main Bible, but I have to admit, I am a total Bible freak, and use many!!!!!!
This one is definitely a treasure. If you enjoy Dr. Oral Roberts, don't hesitate to get one. Just carefully inquire to the exact condition of the Bible before purchasing. Many apparently were pre-named, so names are printed on the covers, typically. Seems like they were mail-ordered and names were placed then shipped, I am assuming. Very rare to get one without name, but possible. Also, check gold edges and if pages were ripped out; get a guarantee of what you are getting when you order.

This Bible is very good for people new to the Holy Scriptures, as well as those who know them well. It plainly shows timelines, maps, and charts that make the text easier to understand. The comments along the bottom of each page add insight and questions to reflect on in light of text.

I received this bible for my first communion and it has been a family treasure ever since. It is a large, vividly illustrated, leather bound book with sections in front for recording ones family tree. Recommended!
