After reading The Song of Ice and Fire, it was clear that this man knows how to write...He has put together the greatest series ever..yes (Gasp!) its much better than the Lord of the Rings...This series should be the next think Peter Jackson Considers...

Anyhow... This GIANT book (1280 pages) contains many of Martin's earlier works that are all but impossible to find since his earlier compilations are all out of print and one has to look for old Asimov and Analog Magazines on Ebay to find all these stories... Good Luck finding his other elusive work "Songs the Dead men sing" which runs for $200...Fortunatly, most of the stories from "dead men" have now found there way into this mammoth tome...

What makes this Book great is that it has works for all types of fans... there is Sci-Fi, Fantasy, suspense, Comedy, Satire and just pages and pages of brilliant stories and novellas....All with GRRM's sad and yet beautiful themes as only he can do...

Never has a book made me Cry in one story and then have my heart racing in fear in the next...Joy, sorrow and intrigue on every page...so much so that it leaves the reader wondering how one man could produce such magic...

Buy this book... it may cost a fortune but i assure you the vast treasures inside are worth the price...

If you're looking for a bible that will specifically fit your boy, this is the one. We also got our daughter the one for girls. She loves it because it speaks directly to things she's going through and we are giving this one to my son for his birthday next month. It points out items and scriptures in the bible that directly relate to things he's going through and points out how the bible addresses these issues. It is just AWESOME and we can't say enough about these Life Application Bibles.

The Hammond Atlas is the gold standard. There is a full color panorama of the entire globe in the center of the book.
Global resources, climate and geography are described for
even the most astute student of the world landscape. Each country
is set forth in great detail depicting geographical highlights,
where necessary. The volume would be perfect for any student
in grammar school, high school or college. The price is reasonable considering the value of the purchase. Since the world has changed significantly in the past decade or so, it is
more important to have an up-to-date World Atlas.

This is a great Bible. Love the genuine leather binding. Love the size. Love the price. Great book inside and out.

I love all the images in this book. It's the heavy dark ink on glossy paper that I like the most.

I have had the Hazelton New Testament Concordance for three years now and you can't beat it for those scriptures you can't seem to locate!You New Testament saints that read the King James will love it.

Compact bible but print size is very readable for me. Excellent articles on worship and praise. Holman bibles seem to be constructed very well. God bless.

The HOLMAN CHRISTIAN STANDARD BIBLE has become our favorite version in teaching and preaching. My wife and I have been doing Bible studies in prison ministry since 2003 and have used many versions of the Word: NIV, ESV, NKJV, and finally settled on the New International Readers Version as one which was easy to understand, clear, and faithful to the text. Then we found the Holman Christian Standard Bible.

This version fulfills everything we are looking for: accuracy of the text, ease of use and understanding (I would say it is written at a high school reading level), and faithfulness to the meaning of the passages. For example, the healing scriptures of Isaiah 53, 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17 are all present and clear.

Some of the other modern versions seem to lose the power and authority of the Word as they try to be easily understood in plain English, not Holman. Holman does not take liberties with the authority of the Word, richness of the language, nor many of the key doctrines of the Old and New Testament. I found it to be reliable, articulate and a solid reference.

I highly recommend it for personal devotion, sermon preparation and study, and Bible study with a group. The illustrations are clear, colorful, and helpful. All in all, the Holman Standard is an exceptional Bible and available in a wide range of prices and features.

The British Tan leather cover is beautiful. This has become my favorite Bible of all. We have given many of these to our kids and others ad gifts.
