A wonderful study Bible

I really can't recommend this one highly enough. This Bible is designed for your personal study in mind. The margins are
perfect for writing notes in, the study aids are nicely placed and not so much as to make the Bible too big to carry to church
or work, and the questions asked and things to notice on each page help things stand out that might have slipped by you.
Of all the Bibles I own (and that's a lot), this is the one I use nightly for my personal devotion time and the one I carry
to church with me weekly. If you were affected by the book "Experiencing God" (one you should buy immediately if you don't
already own it) and found the insights in it to be life-changing, then this Bible is the natural next step for you. The only
thing that could have made it slightly better might have been a few more quotations from the book in back, but that just a
personal preference and doesn't detract from this great study Bible.

I bought one for each of my girls (ages 8 & 10) and they really enjoy reading them and using them for our Bible study time
each day. There are explanations throughout the Bible to highlight things they may not understand, and they are always telling
me something they just learned.
I recommend this Bible for the pre-teen crowd.

My mother still takes care of her 45 year old son. This was a birthday gift. She got me the leather-bound edition and it
is a treasure. The event story is told through first-person accounts and it is riveting. Each D-Day beach gets its own section,
and there are separate sections for the build-up to D-Day and the after-landing breakout from the beaches.
Learn what war was like then, and why today's war-time sacrifices pale in comparison.
The included CD is a nice addition, but not as good as I had hoped.

An outstanding contribution to modern architectural studies.

The main building of the Fagus shoe factory in Germany provides a focus for Annemarie Jaeggi's Fagus, a discussion of the
history of modern architecture, which reveals the factory's innovations and buildings. This follows its construction from
1911 when it was designed and built through the 1920s. While the focus is narrow, the book succeeds in documenting a particular
style and architectural legacy, and will be of interest to any art library with a specific architectural focus.

Touching, but inspiring, how a family can survive tragedy

This is a very compelling story of a mother's struggle to cope with her daughter's illness and eventual death. It shows how
she becomes a better person instead of bitter.
The autor shows amazing strength during and following a tramatic illness of her daughter.
This book should be an encouragement to someone who is going through serious illness with self or someone close to them.
A very interesting book for anyone

This was purchased as a wedding gift. I especially wanted a Bible that had pages for family trees, marriages, births, deaths,
etc. to be recorded. It is a lovely book, bound beautifully. I was proud to give it as a gift. It looks far more expensive
than it was.

This exceptional Bible will bring you a large Bible library beyond your imagination to your finger tips. I love my De Vore
Family Bible and have been the happy owner of it since December 1987. Within its pages you will find the King Games Version
of the Bible, and much more. Here I will share some of what you will find: A Topical Outline, Calendar for daily reading,
Names of God in forty-eight languages, How to study the Bible, Messianic Prophecies and their fulfillment, Life and teachings
of Christ, Christian Character Building chart, Making a success in the Christian life, Elements of success in the Christian
life, Topical Bible Studies, Commonly used Christian words, Christian Words Not found in the Bible, Laws of the Bible, the
Jewish Calendar, Family Record Section, Bible charts, History of the Nations Synchronous, Dictionary with Illustrations, Scripture
Atlas, Alphabetical Index of the Holy Bible, Odd and Unusual facts and saying in the Bible, Things first mentioned in the
Bible, 33 most inspiring and consoling Bible chapters, and a key to pronunciation of the proper names in the Bible. I would
give this Bible Library in one book a higher ration if I could, but I could only give it a five. You will be blessed by this
great masterpiece. It is worth the price!

Heroic Weird Fiction from Pulp Great
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-10-15
Review Date: 2008-10-15
This is a volume (3) in the five-volume "Selected Stories of Manley Wade Wellman" published by Night Shade Books. The series
reprints Wellman's weird short stories and novellas originally published in magazines such as the famed "Weird Tales;" the
full-length books are not included.
Wellman favored heroic characters conquering evil; his most famous creation, John the Balladeer (or "Silver John") stars in the volume I collection "Owls Hoot in the Daytime." This volume contains eight novella-length stories featuring Sergeant Jaeger ("Fearful Rock," "Coven," and "Toad's Foot") and Judge Pursuivant ("The Hairy Ones Shall Dance," "The Black Drama," "The Dreadful Rabbits," and "The Half-Haunted") as well as a historical fiction set in the Jamestown colony, "For the Love of a Witch."
Jaeger is a former Civil War sergeant who, like many Wellman heroes, acts as a sort of mentor and savior of characters who become embroiled in occult difficulties in the late 1800s. Pursuivant is a sort of 'elder-occultsman' who performs the same role in a "contemporary" (1950s - '60s) time period. If you like Silver John, you'll like these stories. They're more atmospheric occult adventure than horror per se; very different from Lovecraft or C.A. Smith, or even Robert E. Howard.
Like the other volumes this has an introduction describing Wellman by a long time friend, in this case Stephen Jones. There is also a "Notes on the Texts" section by John Pelan.
