Wow is all I can think of at this time. I have 3 grandaugthers all 7 years of age and they love thier Bibles. They are eazy to read and understand for them and also have some fun. I wish they had had Bibles like this when I was younger.

I want to say right away that if you are looking for a Bible for a young girl from 8-years old and up, this is the one for you.
Inside the pages of this wonderful version of the Bible, girls will enjoy the pure Word of God, and help in many areas of their lives.
This is done in cleaver and interesting ways, for example, questions are asked and answers given for the girls to chose, such as:

If I think something isn't fair, I"
A. Hope God fixes it and try to live with it.
B. Tells someone who has the power to change it.
C. Complain until I'm heard.

Then on the next page the girls are told what Scripture to turn to depending on their answer.Talk about a great way to get girls to dig into the Word. Great idea!

There are also little commentaries here and there to help the girls understand different Scriptures and bring them by example into their own world. Relating to their time helps them grasp Scripture meaning and helps bring the people of the Bible alive.
There is also interaction for friends to do together, little quizzes, questions, journals. The Bible is colorful, alive and inviting, and will definitely help to draw young ones into more Bible reading. Isn't that what it's all about? What a great way to accomplish this feat. I highly recommend this Bible for any young girl, or anyone who likes to interact with the Word. It is excellent, exceptional and a must have.

I teach a Bible study and this Bible is great for that. It saves me from having another reference a lot of the time, and having explanations in the same book you're reading is very helpful. Sometimes the explanations will take half the page. That's a good thing. It's a great Bible to read for an everyday reading Bible. I just don't take mine to church because it's kinda big and heavy, but a person could use it for their only Bible.

I've never found a better bible.
- It shows how every part of God's Word applies to your life.
- It makes you aware of lessons you may have never noticed.
- It helps you understand how and why the events in biblical times took place by explaining other parallel non-biblical historical events and helps you understand events and their meaning by looking at them in the context of the culture of those times, and then explaining how they apply in today's culture.
- It brings to light the many cross references found in the bible. For example when the New Testament mentions that Jesus fulfilled the prophecies, it points out the specific verses in the Old Testament that apply.
- It has an inline reference of all the events of Jesus's life in the 4 gospels, grouped together in chronological order, and specifies which gospels mention which event.

Highly recommended.

The Bible is very nicely bound in cloth, very firmly stitched together, in sewn signatures. The paper is opaque. On all four sides of the double column page there are one inch margins for notes. This is very nice. There are center column references and an unusually large concordance. I don't think there is a better cloth bound Bible on the market in terms of production quality.

The print is on the small side - 8 points, though it is a clear typeface. My bifocals are up to the job.

The description of the product says "imitation" leather but the binding is cloth. The cloth binding is black and seems very strong and durable. I'm not disappointed. There are few things stronger and more lasting than a tough hard cloth binding.

The Bible does not have notes (other than translation notes) though there are sub-headings above some paragraphs. The sub-headings are useful.

This is a Bible for someone who wants strong cross-references, a good concordance and the Bible-alone in one package. There are no notes (as in the NIV Study Bible) clarifying (or obscuring) doctrinal points and for many people this basic approach to Bible publishing will be preferable.

The price on Amazon (I paid less than $20.00) is a real bargin for a hard bound book of this quality, let alone a Bible.

As a lifelong reader and lover of books, I have always thought the Bible should be printed in a single column just like the books I grew up reading. This single column Bible provides just that which to me makes it more readable. In the construction of the French Morroco leather edition that I purchased, it is obvious why Cambridge is one of the oldest and best Bible publishers still in existence. The binding, sewing and pages all spell quality and care in construction. The print is large enough to be very easy to read, even with these bifocal eyes of mine.

This Bible is not a study Bible but only the Bible which purists may appreciate. The only thing I would change would be its thickness but to achieve that the font would need to be smaller. I would choose the larger font over a thinner Bible.

This leather edition looks and feels like it will serve me well for many years and make reading the scriptures all the more a joy.

This NIV Student Bible is very easy to read and enjoyable. I recommend it for anyone who has not read or has not enjoyed reading other versions of the bible.

I was very happy with the student bible, it was just what I wanted. I saved a lot of money through amazon.

this NIV Bible is a great product. the study helps make it an easy to read Bible. The only thing lacking is Jesus' words in red. But apart from that it is WONDERFUL!!

This student Bible is perfect for all students high school to college age. It provide excellent "blurbs" throughout that explain how passages relate to everyday life and other areas in the bible. The reading tracks are actually doable and give devotional type questions that make the chapters more relevant to the reader. The only thing I wish it included are the words of Christ in red, but that's becoming less common. A wonderful Bible for everyone!!

This was everything that I thought it would be. I am very pleased with it.

Our granddaughter was pleased with 'her own special Bible' She commented on all the explanatory sections putting the old language into language she could relate to. Also has appreciated the many special topics that affect teens in relationship to Bible teachings.

I was very impressed with the Bible. I don't know whether it's leather or not as described though.

This books definitely will help any woman through crisis phases in relationships with men of the Christian belief. This book definitely allows women to understand what she is going through her life. However, this book should not be used to learn about wealth accumulation.

I received this bible 2 Christmases ago. I enjoy reading the short devotions. I strongly recommend this bible to any woman out there.

Excellent Bible. My favorite two versions in parallel. What more could one ask? For thicker - or less transparent pages. Even with 'light' black print {which, is only lightly objectionable}, the 'bleed-through' of print to the next page IS objectionable.

I'm aware of compromise - but, I think I'd opt for a thicker Bible {it's 1 3/4 inches thick}. Or, an overall larger Bible {it's 9 X 6 inches}.

That's my only complaint.

The pluses? Readable size print and verse numbers in the Message Bible.

All-in-all, I LIKE IT!

I have been using the NIV/The Message Parallel Bible by Zondervan prior to buying this Bible but having the larger print and the verse numbers with The Message makes this even a better Bible. It makes it much easier to match the NIV text with the corresponding Message text. As a result I highly recommend this Bible. Recommendations for even a better Bible is to have a red-lettered edition (Christ's words in red), a concordance and maps. The KJV/Amplified Paralled Bible by Zondervan has Christ's words in red and a concordance. I noticed that Zondervan is coming up with a limited edition available for the NIV/The Message Bible around September 2007 that will include maps.

The Notemaker's Bible is basically a standard New Living Translation (1996) text Bible with one major difference. It has eight blank lines at the bottom of each page and wide margins on the outer side of the page so it is easy to make notes right on the page. This gives you an opportunity to create your own study Bible with the things that are important to you, to journalize your thoughts as you read, or anything else that might be important to you.

The front matter of the Bible also includes the Tyndale Bible Verse Finder which is basically a concise topical index helping you locate a verse not by words it contains but by the subject of the verse. If you like to be able to write notes in your Bible and never really had the room for all the comments you wanted to make then you should take a look at the Notemaker's Bible. It may be just what you need.

A new standard for wide margins has been set. For once a bible publisher finally gets it right when it come to publishing a wide margin. The bible has 1.5 inch margin, one-column design, which reduces the need to write in the gutter. An easy to read type font and not that 8 font in most wide margin today. The type is a 10.5 font; in fact I asked the publisher and I inspected the bible at the bookstore on this font. Here are some other details of the bible... lines at the bottom of the page for additional note or journaling thoughts. The additional lines at the bottom are an outstanding idea and we should give that person a raise for getting this in the final bible product. There are also two ribbons for easy marking. No references which allows students of the bible to make there own notes. This bible out paces the NIV Wide Margin, Thompson Chain Wide Margin, NKJV Wide Margin, and the various KJV Wide Margin Bibles. I would say at this point the 2nd World Class Wide margin Bible is Charles Stanley's In Touch Ministries NASB Wide Margin Bible and the 3rd World Class daddy of them all for as a notetaking bible would be a good interleaved bible as the KJV Classic Note Bible. I would hope that the Bible publisher's would take a real hard look at the new standard in a wide margin bible.

What are the negatives...each of us would find some negatives based on their own inspection. I personally would not used the NLT for serious study as well as using it as my note taking bible. But other than that I do not see any other negatives yet. Feel free to make your own judgement about this bible.

I have talked to many publishers and they say to do wide margin cost them money and there is no real market for them. With many of us adults as well as our young people, being encouraged to take notes in church, I believe there is a need.

Wake up publishers there is a new star in town with the right format for a wide margin. And good people out there, let our voices be heard for the other bible versions to follow suit in this format for a wide margin soon.
