As you journey along this book, you know that there will be a brighter light ahead. It is enriched with encouragement and hope that things will get better. There is also a spiritual aspect to the book.

After reading, the stories in this book, I find myself identifying in so many ways. Often times, we read about famous people i.e. Janet Jackson, who struggled with low self-esteem; Opray Winfrey, who was abused as a child etc. But we must remember there are challenges in most person's lives and the struggle to overcome can be quite a large undertaking. And to read how the person's mentioned in this book rose up and turned negative situations into positive is quite inspiring to me.

It is often said, mind over matter. Think positive! Do the right thing! Those are only words, however, let us remember, it is the actions that heed our progress, the inner motivation that gets caught up in negative behavior.

I am inspired after reading this book and have recommended it to my friends.

I purchased this bible as a wedding gift. It far exceded my expectations. Many pages are included to record your very own family history. This bible is so much more beautiful than I ever thought it would be, and the illustrations are real pieces of art. This bible is wonderful to look through and read. It made a fantastic gift.

After receiving the KJV Antique Bible, I knew I had to speak to the quality of it. Not only is it well made, with a binding and pages that I'm sure will last for future generations, like the Bibles of old, but the content is presented with contemporary features and in a way that updates the presentation of content to modern standards. I look forward to reading the words of God to my family from such an authoritative looking Bible, besides the fact that it is the King James Version, which is more than just another version, but is the only Bible that captures the passion and thoughts of The Lord in the way He inspired it to!

The Bible was bound beautifully making it look acceptable for a young couple but still maintaining a distinguished look that will last through generations to come. The print was very acceptable. It was a delight to give this gift to our godchild and his new wife.

I been reading this Bible for close to eight years now and love it so much, I am purchasing two for my 2 daughters.

The Cross Reference System in this Bible is an excellant reference tool for those new to reading the Bible. I purchased my first, after reading the introduction and preface. It is a new translation from the best available Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts.

The sectional headings, at the beginning of each book, Summarize the title, background, author, date of writing, theme of Book, and Message, which for me, enhanced my reading of each Book.

Excellent and Basic Bible

I think this is an excellent bible. The type is just right. Many bibles have very small print or the large print edition seems too big. I looked at alot of bibles before deciding on this one. I wanted one without all the "busy" references, notes, etc. If you want a study bible, then this is not for you.
The only drawback is that the pages are too thin. You can see through them to the other side. And, if you write notes or highlight, it comes through the page. I would like better quality paper and certainly would pay more for that if I could find a simple bible with good paper.
But, for the price, I highly recommend it. It is a lovely gift Bible as well esp. if you have their name engraved on the front. I bought one for each of my family so we all have the same edition and version and can read together.

I recommend this as an everyday-use Bible.

Don't be mis-led by the photo at the top of the page. This Bible has a high-quality, plain navy blue leather cover with silver printing on the binder and silver-leaf pages.

As with all NIV's the print is clear and easy to read. The page is in a two-column format, with Christ's words in red letters. The layout is clean since there are no study guides or running commentaries (a plus as far as I am concerned; I find them distracting). There is a brief concordance with a few maps in the back.

It's a clear, readable, and convenient Bible that should last for years.

I got two of these. The size is amazing--it's much smaller than my other compact reference Bible. That is without compromising the font sizes. I love the NASB translation. This is exactly what I need when I travel. I would definitely recommended it to friends.

I purchased this for my wife, and she thinks it's ideal to put in her purse, or just carry around on its own. The snap flap works well - especially if you are accustom to inserting notes within the pages. I have a pocket size, which is also great to have with me (OT and NT), but the font of this version is much more readable.

Great value

The NASB is greatly valued by those who are serious about their bible study because it is a very literal translation of the HEbrew and Greek. It takes a bit of time to get used to its sometimes wooden prose (due to the translators trying to keep close to the original languages) but the effort is worth it and will reward you with a greater understanding of the bible than the interpretive NIV can give. This is a neat compact bible with snap closure. The font is very readable. I do wish that there were center references but that would make the book too large for a compact. For twenty bucks, this is a great deal.

This Bible feels like a genuine leather glove and feels good to the hands and allows for bending & flexibility. The writing is large enough to read, the print quality is nice, and the pages lay flat. If you want a classic soft feel, and all around high quality leather Bible, this is your Bible. You want to keep this one as your own, or give to someone who appreciates goatskin quality.

I bought this Bible based on the Cambridge reputation and excellent reviews, however, the quality was not quite as good as I had hoped. The binding and leather appear to be top-notch, but the paper and print seem to be less than premium. The paper is extremely thin and would probably tear easily. The print is comfortably sized with very readable font, but the ink is visibly faded on some pages. Overall this is a beautiful Bible, but it feels more like an $80-$100 Bible than one that carries a $180+ retail. It might last a lifetime, but you will certainly have to take extra special care of it to do so. Final thought: Old-World craftsmanship, Lacks Refinement - The finest made Bibles in the world...I hope not.

Are you weary of purchasing Bibles only to have them fall apart on you due to sloppy construction? Turn to the Smyth-sewn, leather bound quality craftsmanship of a Cambridge Bible and be satisfied for a lifetime. Cambridge Bibles possess a combination that is sadly rare today: beautiful to behold, but rugged enough to last and last. I recommend you consider the goatskin binding with another layer of leather lining for additional strength and durability. I prefer the Concord over other Cambridge KJV editions because it has the perfect blend of legible print size, compact dimensions for carrying, useful center-column references, and text without annoying superscript notations to match the center-column references. If you use the Authorized Version (1769 update), this is the finest available. Cambridge has recently branched out and is publishing beautiful editions of other translations, but none in the Concord format.

The world's only pure Authorized King James Version Holy Bible

To put it lightly, the goatskin Cambridge Concord KJV (ISBN#052170796X) is a monumental achievement, surpassing Shakespeare's, Picasso's, and all Michelangelo's works put together. You will not find any thing, which hath been or which is now, more awe inspiring, more marvellous, than this so wondrous work of art the pure Concord King James Bible.

I shall go on: the Concord's spelling of words are inspired of God; the use of capitals is inspired of God; the verse and chapter numbering is inspired; the title pages before each testament are inspired; the font and size of the printed words are inspired (I believe the Times Semi Bold font is the only font set down by God;) where each verse lays on the page is come from God; and I hold now that the centre column references in this Cambridge Bible are semi inspired of God, along with the headliner running words along the tops of the pages; and all pronunciation marks are the holy marks of God, and the King James Bible must have them, and these certain ones only and where they are placed. And finally, (though this is not from God, but mine own belief,) but that this our God's final perfect Book is to to lay under goatskin leather, and it only: (but as of now I am still partially open on this matter.)

No other book is or can be called the pure King James Version. If you do not own a Cambridge Concord Reference King James Bible, simply put, you do not have the pure words of God. I would preach that with a loaded gun to my head. All the final and polished pure words of God are in one Book and one alone, and it is this distinct one by Cambridge. Trust me, take my word for it, these are the holy words of God; if you look elsewhere, you are looking elsewhere in vain.

That is all.

This is the last Bible that I will likely ever purchase for myself. It is beautiful with first class workmanship, and it is built to last. Being a minister of the gospel, I have searched for this book for the past several years, and was finally able to find one that actually shipped to me!

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
(Isa 52:7)

To this end, I will be using THIS WORD to share with others.

Yes indeed. The Bible is the Book of books. Everyone should have a copy and read it. And it's the kind of book you can and SHOULD go back to frequently ... "Yea" daily. If the antiquated language of the King James Version leaves you scratching thy head pick up the New American Standard Version.

Even if you're not a "believer" you should be familiar with the Bible and the accounts therein. Remember in the film "Erin Brochovich" Julia Roberts referred to "David and What's His Name"? If she had even a cursory knowledge of the Bible the name "Goliath" would've rolled right off of her tongue. Then there is "Daniel in the lion's den", "the walls of Jericho", Jonah, the parting of the Red Sea -- all kinds of references you hear in normal, everyday conversations. And let's not forget "doubting Thomas", Judas' betrayal, the loaves and the fishes. If nothing else, a knowledge of the Bible will make revival presentations of "Godspell" and "Jesus Christ Superstar" more meaningful.

Anyway, I highly recommend buying a copy of the Bible and reading it -- even meditating on it daily. But maybe not this huge lectern version. Amazon has many other choices.

May the Author of the Book bless you big time.

This Edition of New King James provides incredibly balanced references that can help both new believers and bible scholars deepen their knowledge of and experience with our God and Father. Dr. Jack Hayford is a pastor and a pastor to pastors. His experience of what it means to live and walk in humility in the Kingdom has guided his life and ministry for over half a century. In this Edition he brings together the resources of many like minded bible scholars to provide a practical and insightful guide to a surrendered relationship with God the father, God the Comforter and God the King. I always keep at least one or two of these around in paper back to give to anyone beginning to study scripture.

I bought this bible because I wanted a bible that was easier to read. I am in my thirties, and I have perfect 20/20 vision, but I think it's more comfortable for anyone to read larger print. I find that I can read longer and stay more focused when my eyes are not strained, so I am very very pleased with this purchase. This bible is the softest leather, feels great to hold, and it looks very nice. I can't believe the great price!

If someone has to explain the daddy-dynamic to you then move on to some other reading material. Life's too short to force what's not there by nature. Carol Queen rules! This little book has all the humor, frankness, and hot hot action that I have come to expect from her work in various anthologies and magazines. This is the story of a young woman with a very hard to satisfy kink--she loves strong, macho leather daddies. So she disguises herself as a boy to pick up her tricks--sometimes successfully, more often resulting in disappointment when she reveals herself. Until she meets her daddy--a man who is open to the erotic possibilities of a heterosexual relationship! The true beauty of this story, though, is not the well written and titillating sex(although it is VERY well written and titillating!) but the sweet and loving relationship that develops between the girl, her daddy, and his lover. Carol's writing always explores unusual sexual couplings with a strong eye toward the emotion behind the action, and this story is one of the best examples of her art.

The best erotic novel I've ever read.

Review Date: 2002-02-22
When reading erotic novels, I tend to simply skip ahead to the "good parts" because the author usually fails to set up a world where I could care about the characters. The author's energies seem to go into writing sex scenes rather than a fully engrossing story.

Carol Queen, whose short story submissions to "Herotica" and "The Best American Erotica" have been many of my favorite erotica stories ever, proves that she can work her same magic in novel (or novella) form.

I think that her sucess with this book is based in that the protangist (Miranda / Randy) and her fellow adventurers stay pretty much to the point of the book: sex. When they're not having it, they're talking about their sexual histories or waxing philisophical on their favorite intimate activities. But here's the fun part: they're not shallow. These characters care about each other and build fascinatingly sturdy, loyal relationships. We're not specifically told the passage of time between some chapters, but as the characters get more familar with each other, it's fairly obvious that chosen families are being built.

I don't recall any wasted words, or anything jarring in this book. The sex is often rough, but there's nothing unconsensual going on. It is the stuff of fantasy, but as such Queen has managed to make each fantasy important and relevant to the overall tale of gender-play, love, sex, rites of passage and the realm of the forbidden.

I am sorry to see that, as of this writing, this book is so hard to find. Queen is a wonderful writer, and "The Leather Daddy and the Femme" beats the heck out of most of what I've seen out there.

A good read in addition to a good stroke

Review Date: 1998-09-15
I read the first two chapters of this book as a stand alone story in a women's porn anthology somewhere, and really enjoyed them. They were hot and exciting, as well as being well written. When I saw that Queen had written a book, though a small one, based on that story I snapped it up.

I read the book last night, and it is worth the money. It's hot, exciting, and imaginative. It's also well written with believable characters. I loved it.

Required Reading for All boys and Their Dominants

boy Vince,

This book should be mandatory reading for any boy identifying as a leatherboy. The Dominant in any leatherboy's life should also read this book to better understand both his boy and the relationship with his Sir or Dominant.

We live a 24/7 D/s life. Our Sir/boy relationship is our foundation and the bond between us.

Before reading your book, my boy was at a very low point in his journey due to the fact that he craved the brotherood of other leatherboys, but had difficulty finding leatherboys with whom he could communicate, identify, and interact with on a 1 to 1 basis. He can easily find boys, but is having problems finding boys with Leather hearts living Leather values in their everyday lives. Your book has let him know that he is not alone. At one time, you, boy Vince, were in the same situation. Your book has given him the tools, the mindset, and the courage to continue his journey alone if necessary.

I have tried staying up with his reading of your book so that we can discuss the points of importance you bring up. The first sentence in this book was the seed of a very necessary, yet deep discussion between us. Every page, every paragraph and in some cases, every sentence within a paragraph is packed with statements initiating healthy discussion between us.

As my boy's Sir, I work very hard to be the BEST I can be each day in order to guide and mold my wonderful boy in his Leather journey. Even though this book is written as a handbook for boys, it has given me much reflection in my own journey to help me better understand "boy" mindset and fine tune my daily thoughts and actions to improve the level of responsibility I thought I had already mastered.

I recommend leatherboy's Handbook be read by all leatherboys, Dominants of boys, as well as anybody else living or interested in a D/s relationship to better understand its dynamics.

This book is long overdue in the Leather Community. boy Vince, Sir Grey and all who helped with your book, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, not only for the love and emotion within the content of this book, but the selfless gift to the Leather Community by donating all profits from this book to the Leather Archives and Museum.

Respectfully,
GroundedSir

This book is quite literally a dream come true for me. As someone who is brand new to the Leather Scene (but not D/s or BDSM), there are so many questions i had that were answered here, including some i'd never even thought to ask. It's a fantastic look into a mindset that i've always identified with even if i never quite knew what name to place upon it.

boy vince speaks from both the heart and from first-hand experience and it shows, guiding and educating the reader while never coming across as condescending or belittling. And therein lies a great deal of this book's appeal - it has a very 'real' feel to it and the astute reader comes away from the experience with even more questions, a drive to know more, and a great many unexpected and satisfying answers.

i cannot recommend this book highly enough to both the Leather curious and to the budding leatherboy. The reader can clearly see that this Lifestyle is an ever-onward journey, crossing the paths of many People, with each stop along the way only adding more and more knowledge and satisfaction if one's heart is in the right place.

If the reader approaches this book with both an open heart and an open mind, the rewards will surely prove to be amazingly satisfying. i know that my own drive has been fired and enhanced by the gift of boy vince's knowledge and experience. It takes a brave person to put this kind of soul-baring information into the hands of complete strangers and it takes an attentive reader to take that information, mold it, and make it their own, thereby enhancing their own journey.
