This little book is great to keep you in the word when you don't have a lot of time to spend reading the bible. It's great.

I bought this book for my girlfriend after reading the men's daily devotional book by Zondervan. It helps you get through life moments with inspirational Bible verses and short stories. Easy to pick up and read at a moments notice.

This book is a "must have" for all Christian women. It is appropriate for a variety of ages (older teenagers through adults) and stages (those beginning their walk with the Lord through mature Christians). It is conveniently arranged according to topic, including pertinent scriptures for a variety of interests and needs ("Anxiety" and "Presence of God," for example). Those to whom I have given this book (it makes a wonderful gift) usually use it for a daily devotional, however, it can also be used as a source for guidance, in times of trouble, or during low points in one's life. (Don't be surprised if the men in your life [father, brother, husband] enjoy it, too!)

HCSB Sailor's Bible
If you are looking for a gift to give to any sailor heading off to basic training, a Plebe heading off to the U.S. Naval Academy, or newly commissioned Naval officer, this Bible makes a wonderful gift. The bonded leather and binding are of good quality.

I purchased The Sailor's Bible for my son's graduation from Navy Boot Camp. He was very touched and this will definitely become a family heirloom for him as well as being used in his travels. The size is perfect for the tight spaces they live in and the quality is excellent. It has a lot of special features for your Sailor also! I would definitely recommend it.

I bought one for my youngest son (12 yrs.) and he loved it. My oldest son (16 yrs) keeps taking it and using it so much that I have to buy one for him. They both like the special prayers in the back and the added information about the navy. very easy to handle, light and thin.

Absolutely marvelous collection with wonderful descants and interesting arrangements. I have given copies to many people because I love this book so MUCH!!! If you've ever lived in England, or ever loved CDs of King's College Choir or St. John's College Choir from Cambridge, England, you will discover the arrangements in this great book!

This is a must have for anyone conducting a choir at highschool level and beyond. I sang many of these songs in my choir in highschool, and now that I'm starting my own carreer as a music teacher I've purchased my own copy. If you're looking for some great arrangements of classic pieces, this is the book you want. Perfect for the classroom and more.

Some of the gems of this book that I'd recommend are Lord of the Dance, and In Dulci Jubilo.

Buy this, you're missing some great music if this isn't in your collection.

I had to buy this book for a concert with my local music association. I was impressed with the wide variety of carols in it, despite the fact that it lacks the "Carol of the Bells," one of my favorites. I was kind of hoping that some of the arrangements could be used for informal singing, but most of them are arranged for performance.

This book is a wonderful source for any established choir. The multi-part harmonies are arranged in a unique and expressive way. The song selections range from old latin (Quem Pastores Laudavere), to religious (It came upon a midnight clear), and even encludes variations of Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls.

I had the pleasure of participating in a workshop with David Willcocks, and received this book as part of it. It was first published in 1987, but Sir David had some amusing anecdotes to share about how he and John Rutter, another name to reckon with in choral music circles, put it together.

This is what I like about it:

* These gentlemen are giants in the English choral music scene, and personify the English choral tradition in everything they do. So it's a pleasure to find that they have included many carols from other countries, as well as the English ones. It's very hard to find non-English-language carols, so this is a nice little collection.

* Their 4-part arrangements are imaginative but easy enough to sight-sing.

* It also includes a listing of church festivals other than Christmas, with the names and page numbers of carols that would be appropriate for each.

* For ease of navigation as you're singing, the verses are in Roman type while the refrains are in italics.

* For reasons that are not clear, they have chosen to include the text in the original language in some cases, but not all. The foreign language texts are immediately under the English translations, so you can sing in either language.

* At the very end of the book is the order of service for the traditional Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, with instructions on the appropriate rank of each person to read, from chorister to bishop.

If you are only going to buy one carol book, this and the Oxford Book of Carols are the best ones to consider. The Oxford has more in it, and is hugely more expensive, so I recommend this one! it'll take you several Christmasses to sing your way through it.

I bought this bible and the accompanying cds and that makes sharing and studying the bible fun and easy to share. Every household should have a set.

I love this Bible! It goes right along with the cd's. The voices are amazing. Actually brings me to tears at times listening to them! Thank you for offering such a fabulous produt.

I am glad I brought this bible because I now know the names of the people on the Bible Experience CD's. it list all the names of each person speaking. I is glad to put a name with the voice. The Leather is also very nice and it is a nice size.

I purchased this as a gift to accompany the cds. I have given this to two people and they both have thanked me several times. It makes the Bible Experience an even better experience. I just ordered it for myself but before I gave it to the second person I had a chance to use it and I almost did not want to give it as a gift but I did and I quickly ordered one for myself. I also use this with my children and we listen to the cds and they read along. I would highly recommend.

This journal was the best item I took on my trip to Europe. It was easy to write in and easy to carry on daily road trips. I also used it draw and post pictures. My journal is full of memories I will never forget.

I ordered this journal for myself just to have something to write in over my Christmas holidays. I was highly surprised when I opened it to discover gorgeous leather binding with hand-made paper on the inside; higher quality than anything I've been able to find in stores. It's a perfect size for travel, can fit easily into a carry on or purse, and makes writing into a luxurious experience. This is a top of the line item.

It writes itself; truly amazing. Whether you're sad, happy etc. It puts its own words on the page. Brilliant!

This journal has a special feel to it...just as special as the memoirs it will keep.

When I first started looking for a journal, I was utterly lost. I didn't know what I wanted or what I was willing to pay for. The choices are seemingly infinite, and it's hard to know until you begin to work with a journal whether or not it will stand the test of time and meet your needs. This journal is wonderful. It's bound so that, when opened, it lies relatively flat, making it easy to write in. The hand made paper has character, with no two pieces exactly alike, yet the writing surface is generally smooth enough to sketch on. These journals are literally so beautiful that I was almost afraid to write in them for fear of messing them up, but don't let that stop you! I have this journal as well as the maroon cover Lama Li. I like this one because of its style and durability. I read another review that described the journal well by saying, "They seem so exotic, you can imagine yourself in Egypt or Burma scribbling away about the day's adventures." That's very true. The maroon cover journal is a bit less expensive, yet contains extra pages. Both are worth the money, but this one's my favorite.

I've been collecting vintage and (some) new prayerbooks, mostly Catholic, for years and I used them all, usually having one or two favorites, and then rotating through my collection as the days passed. It worked for me. Well, this prayerbook is astoundingly full of useful prayers, most old favorites, but many newer (to me) written by the Saints, and they are reason enough to buy this book. A few bring tears to my eyes as I pray them, feeling the amount of power and sincere sentiment and truth written into them by their authors. Beautifully tailored, very well produced and meant to last at least a lifetime, I recommend it to all of my prayerful friends. A person could go for the rest of their lives using this prayerbook alone.
If I have one minor complaint, it is that the leatherette cover is too stiff. It folds back on the book and snaps shut. A nice feature, but it keeps flapping back across the page, necessitating holding it back with part of your right hand as you read and pray. It would have been fabulous in a supple genuine cowhide leather. But, you can't have everything. I still love the book. You will, too.
The Holybook Lover

I am happy that I purchased this prayerbook, for not only is it attractive with its leatherette cover and gilded pages, but it is also well bound with thick pages guaranteeing a lifetime of use. Its bold print makes for easy reading, and the prayers within are both simple and profound, earnest and powerful ... a must for any Catholic. I enjoy having available the Latin equivalent of the popular prayers. In the midst of all the daily distractions from prayer in this fast-paced world, one will find this attractive book a tempting invitation to spend time with God.

My priest introduced me to this prayer book. As a cradle catholic of 40 plus years I am truly blessed to own a copy. It contains basic Catholic prayers, novenas, prayers for various needs and also has the Latin form of prayers. It is beautifully bound in black leather, gilded page edges, 2 ribbon markers, and a handy case to keep it in. It is truly heirloom quality. Will make a great gift for cradle catholics as well as converts. Originally written for the students of the Pontifical North American College. A must have for all Catholics.

After purchasing the Manual of Prayers, I found my prayer life had greatly improved. I have been greatly blessed by it. It comes leather bound in 2 colors, black and burgundy. It was such a blessing fort me that I had to get one for a friend. It is good for those who have a hard time praying. It makes it easier to start a prayer or gives one ideas on how to pray. It is a wonderful book that is nothing short of priceless.

The Manual of Prayers in burgundy leather is a beautiful collection of prayers written in modern English. While written for seminarians, it provides the lay person with the opportunity to connect on a very spiritual level with God through a variety of prayers for most every occasion. The snap cover is a plus, allowing one to use prayer cards to mark special prayer locations without worrying about them falling out or being disrupted if one accidentally drops the book while carrying it. A fine choice for anyone wanting to get closer to God.

This little sketchbook is perfect to throw in a purse or pocket. It has served me well and done it's job perfectly.

I already have 10 of those, and always make sure I have extras when one is near being full. Blank Moleskins are my official sketchbooks - I make sure that every time I sketch, it's in one of those. The paper is magnificent, smooth and has a nice yellowish tint. I use a pilot pen or ball pen to draw in these, it won't smudge, and can take some watercolor as well.. Perfect to carry in my bag. A truly well made and quality item. A necessity that I'm always happy to splurge on.

This notebook is a must-have for people that need to have order in the everyday life, or just a piece of paper available for some stress-out drawing. Great product!

A friend gave me a Moleskine pocket sketchbook for my birthday last year. In the last year, this little sketchbook has become an almost constant companion, accompanied by a small bag of Prismacolor pencils. I've never been able to keep a written journal for more than a few days, but my Moleskine has become a visual journal. It's the perfect size to slip into a bag, purse, or even a pocket, and unlike many sketchbooks, is so well bound that it can take almost anything without losing a single page.
I just ordered two more of these pocket sketchbooks--I can't imagine going without one.

I'm enjoying this Bible very much. I read extremely fast so there are two reasons I purchased this particular Bible. First and foremost, my Pastor (Blake C., Hope Evangelical Free Church, Springfield, IL) recommended the NASB version to me as the more accurate transcription. Second, I 'have' to read each verse twice. Gives me more time to absorb what I'm reading and the amplified half gives an explanation of (a) certain word(s) in the verses. I had complained to my Pastor that I read too fast and didn't feel that I was absorbing enough of the Word. P.S. Amazon.com is the greatest!

I really like my new Amplied Bible it's makes understanding the Bible complete because it uses words so you can get more out of what your reading.

Beautiful Bible - one you can pass down to your heirs. The modern language coupled with the amplified version adds immensely to my understanding of God's word. Well worth every penny.

This combines what are probably the two easiest to understand modern English translations of the bible into one book, for side by side comparison. No more hard-to-understand words and grammar written in translations from 500 years ago. If you have only one Bible - make it this one.

Probably the best parallel bible you can buy from the market. NASB and AMP truly implements each other. The print quality is exceptional. The bible is thinner and lighter than expected, easy to carry. Excellent for day-to-day bible reading with the accuracy of NASB and the rendering of AMP. Well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Out of all of the Bibles that I have used the Nelson Study Bible is my favorite because of the resources it provides. It offers scholarly and spiritual insights through reference materials and doctrinal footnotes. The contents is easy to understand and will assist a new learner with practical applications for daily living. This Bible is a great tool for sermon preparation. I encourage everyone to make this Bible their primary study Bible.

After carefully shopping and reviewing an exhaustive list of Bibles and translations, in my humble opinion, Nelson's NKJV Study Bible sets the standard by which all other Study Bibles should be measured. This is the best gift you could ever buy yourself or others... which in reality is God's best gift to us.

CLEAR - Clear, plain language explains all Christian doctrines and theologies. Verses having more than one opinion or translation are comparably presented without bias. Many pages have more study material, helps and commentary than Scripture, although, all Scripture is covered.

This is the one study Bible that I have given away to young men entering the ministry. The word studies, charts, articles, and the running commentary at the bottom of every page are excellent. Cross references are consistent with the NKJ translation and are always helpful. This study Bible is not for the lazy scholar, but for serious Christians.

I was given this BIble as a gift 5 years ago and I still read from it daily. ITs streghts lie in the fact that it is firmly evangelical and believes in the inspiration of Scripture. In the opening pages one will see that hundredrs of renown scholars have contributed to the articles and annotations. What I particularly liked about it was that it examined 'hard passages' in thier biblical context, offered the opposing views, and then gently espoused thier view based on solid exegesis. Also pf note are the word studies, in depth articles, and special excerpts that focus on a hot doctrine of SCriptre. Evem more amazing is the factt htat the scholars who contributed did not hammer their opinions down your throat, sometimes never voicing them at all! For example, many of the contributors came from Dallas Theological Seminary, yet you wil not find them throwing dispensationalism down your throat. However, the main editors, Dr. Earl Radmacher and others come from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary. Other institutions represented range from New Orleans Baptist to Princeton.
Bottom line:
I have over 20 refernece and study bibles and this one I will recommend over any, including Ryrie. This book changed my devotions and bible studies.

As a crib catholic, The New Catholic Answer Bible is a perfect reading/study Bible for the Catholic and non-Catholic individual. Clear and easy to read.
I highly recommend the leather "Librosario" edition - it is a beautiful book! GO FOR IT!

The inserted question and answer pages are topical and relevant for my 17 year old son who I purchased this for. He is better able to defend his faith and gained knowledge as to why we Catholics do the things we do. Excellent way to get my teenage son interested in reading the Bible on a regular basis. I really like the rosary that is tooled into the leather cover....when I asked my parish priest to bless it for me...he too thought it a very nice looking Bible...great gift for young people who have graduated beyond the Bibles geared towards them.

I bought this bible a few months ago. I wanted to find out more about Catholicism because I was considering joining a Catholic church in my area. I found the explanations of Catholic beliefs very useful, with Scripture references for further study. The translation is clear and easy to read. I recmommend the leather "Librosario" edition - it is a beautiful book!

I am not a big fan of the NAB. Yet I must say, if you want a bible that simply explains the Catholic faith, This is it.This bible contains simple question and answer pages inserts scattered through the text. They are simple and contain helpful imformation. It feels good. It also has a rosary embedded on the cover.

This bible is--IMO--the standard by which all other New American versions should be measured. It is perhaps the most beautiful book inside and out I have come across. The leather is soft to the touch and does not show fingerprints, the pages are edged in gold, there is a rosary ENGRAVED into the back leather cover, the modern print has beautiful contrast with the page color, and the full color Q&A insert pages are superbly written and incredibly relevant (i.e. "What are apologetics?").

Inquiring minds will also love the explanations in the footnotes of every page (i.e. "What is manna?").

I HIGHLY recommend this book to ALL Catholics--and Christians in general. You will not regret this purchase. 100% top notch from cover to cover.
