This Spanish-English Bible is formatted nicely, with Spanish on the left side of the page, and English on the right side of the page. This makes it easy for someone learning Spanish (or English, for that matter) to get used to the sentence structure and phrases of that language.

Our Chruch brought these bibles to a migrant camp along with the Christmas presents purchased off our "Angel Tree." Rather than just buy a Spanish Bible I decided to buy one that would allow the recipients the opportunity to learn English if they were interested.

Each daily entry is a pithy, thought-provoking insight into becoming a respected, valued, and life-changing leader.

After one year of reading the daily entries and now starting on a second year, I can highly recommend this book for those who really want to lead from the heart and who can understand that a real leader is a servant to his or her team. If you don't want to change yourself, your perspectives, or your methods of leadership, don't bother with this book. It is for those who value personal growth and enrichment for leader and followers, despite personal sacrifices by the leader to model the necessary maturity.

Outstanding devotional for any leader

Review Date: 2006-02-12
I bought both the hardback version and the leather bound version (1 for me and 1 as a gift).

A leader is not necessarily someone who has a position of high authority or who has hundred or thousands under his influence. Everyone can and should be a leader in some form or fashion, whether it is in the home with the family, in the workplace or at school while displaying God's testimony through your life, or in the church through our ministry, official or not. So, while this book is designed to be written for leaders, it applies to pretty much everyone.

I received this item in the middle of February, and the first day I had it, I read almost back to the beginning of the year. The book has superb insight regarding leadership examples in Scripture. Maxwell begins each day with a passage of Scripture from either the OT or NT and points out the leadership example displayed within. He takes from his previous writings on leadership to expound upon the leadership ideal found in the passage. As a seminary student, hoping to lead spiritually, a military officer, a husband and future father, I found this book to be a superb tool in helping me find my potential in leadership through God's gifts and His Word.

Binding and pages:
I was very pleased with the stout nature of the binding of both the leather bound and hardback versions. Both appear to be very durable and expertly bound. The pages are thick (again durable) and the layout is very beautifully done. Each page has a watermark on it with an inspirational image at the beginning of each month. Both editions have a ribbon bookmark.

I highly recommend this book to all people as we all have our times where we lead. This book will help us prepare for that time.

This book is very small, but has a hard cover. It is just right to tuck in another gift as an extra surprise. Even though I have read this book before, it still has the power to touch me and help me take inventory of my walk with God. Sometimes we do tend to leave Christ out of certain areas of our lives, and this book opens your eyes to see these areas, but it is done in a very loving way. I was going to order some more copies as gifts, but have not been able to find this particular edition on Amazon again. Perhaps, I will take another look to see if I have missed it.

I realize that this booklet has been highly reviewed by others, and I can understand why. "My Heart-Christ's Home" is essentially an extended analogy between our lives and our homes. Munger translates the common evangelical idea of inviting Jesus to live in our hearts into a situation in which Jesus is invited to physically live in our house. He walks through the house and describes how Jesus would interact with each part.

It's an interesting analogy, relatively well-executed. My critique is that it definitely enters the world of cheesiness a few times, going overboard with the "Christ as my buddy-buddy" idea. Though personalizing Jesus is helpful, there is something hokey about a picture of Jesus in bathroom slippers sitting in my living room reading the newspaper and sipping a cup of coffee. Maybe this is just a reflection of the pamphlet showing its age.

I was also overwhelmed by the brevity of this "book." It can easily be read in one sitting, which is convenient. However, I would have preferred something more substantive. Ultimately, this booklet is solid and worthwhile, if somewhat incomplete.

My Heart-Christ's Home is a clear, easy-to-read book that talks about how you should refine and shape your heart for Christ's home. Pastor Munger uses his home and Christ as his guest for an example . If you are struggling with finding room for Christ in your heart, I highly recommend this book. It teaches you how to "clean your heart" and only set it aside for God.

Review Date: 2008-08-16
This is a very solid Bible. It was a little larger than what I had hoped, but the quality of construction makes up for it. The pages do not feel like they will tear in your hands like some other Bibles I have had, and the leather cover is quite pliable. I had never had an NASB translation before and I have not been disappointed. The center column references in this edition give several cross references and much help with different word options in places that I believe helps to open up how the original readers would have heard and understood the stories of scripture. I wish that it was a paragraph style instead of verse format, but the fact that it is black-letter, along with all that I discussed above makes up for it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this Bible to anyone.

What better way to recommend this Bible but to tell you I am ordering an identical copy? I am extremely picky about Bibles. They MUST be: black, leather, not too thick, not too thin, print size just right, good quality feel. The other reviewers have listed all the attributes, so I will just say, "just right!" I love it!
Alas, last night, my daughter accidentally spilled a huge glass of water on its open pages, then in trying to "fix it", she grabbed a towel, and wiping too hard, tore a hole. I can't imagine any Bible withstanding that! Thats why I ordered another one just like it today.
This was my first NASB, having switched some time back from NIV to KJV. I found the KJV a bit difficult to understand at times and therefore was not into the WORD like I should have been. I really like the way the NASB, reads.
I highly recommend this Bible!

How does one critique the inerrant word of God? Well, you do it with the most detailed blueprint available. Nelson's NKJV Study Bible, large print, is outstanding. The illustrations are abundant and colorful. The mapping is thorough and appropriately assigned to the timelines in question. The word focus is on point and informative. The language is still beautifully couched in Elizabethan English but streamlined to eliminate some of the more archaic usage. The poetic harmony of the NKJV is enhanced by the large script which supports easier, faster reading and absorbtion. And the notes; they are magnificant. How do I know; I have a Matthew Henry; a DAKE; a MacArthur and a Ryrie, all of which are excellent Study Bibles. The notes are good in all but they are over the top in the Nelson. Oh and by the way, I am well aware of the fact that the KJV is the Byzantine Text or Textus Receptus (some call it the majority text) which has received some negative press by those who prefer to hang their hat on Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus; that perhaps editorial license and interpolation was taken by some over zealous scribes some few hundred years ago and that Nestle Aland and Westcott & Hort's Text should be the scriptural searchlight for all future issues. Folks, I have a Life Application Study Bible, NLT and I love it but to all of those of us who love literary masterpeices, I ask you to consider Shakespeare in "dynamic functional equivalence". This Nelson NKJV is a fabulous product that just plain feels good everytime I pick its big old body up. Thanks Nelson!

Unfortunately, for some surely idiotic reason, this Bible is no longer in print. It is very large and heavy, but the print, while not exactly large, is largER than the standard size Bible of this title. The binding is sewn!!!! Most unusual on a Nelson Bible, but considering the size of the book, their normal glue surely wouldn't hold. The annotations, charts, and articles are undeniably superb in that sense of the word. This is a Bible worth having, especially if you enjoy larger print, as I do. The shame about it is that you will now have to locate it on used book websites.

Great Study Bible for front line soldiers in war

Review Date: 2005-05-12
I helped develop a study for New Christians at my church in Texas seven years ago. We used the NIV Starting Point Study Bible as our designated Bible for the class. We found it the most helpful Bible for new Christians available on the market, and even to this day it remains true. Over 1300 people attended our study over 5 years.

Now, I find myself as a contractor for the war on terror in Iraq. Many combat soldiers here are becoming Christians, and people back home are sending copies of the NIV Starting Point Bible for the soldiers at the Chapel services. A number of soldiers who are not Christians are asking for the 'blue' Bibles the other soldiers are carrying around. The introduction of the Starting Point Bible includes a presentation of how to become a Christian, so it becomes a great witnessing tool for soldiers looking for answers. Other new Christian soldiers are getting the study Bibles for their bunk-mates and sharing with them how they can find Christ also. The Starting Point Bible will be an invaluable tool for these soldiers as they usually have a good amount down time.

This Bible is a great addition to any care package headed for the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan...

I previously used the NIV Quest study bible, and while that is a good book, this version better suited my needs. Studying the bible is not simple task, it is a very complex book for one unfamiliar with Christian terms and language. This book takes some of the guesswork out of that by including a glossary of highlighted key terms, life topics, reading plans, and a concordance. Thank you Luis Palau for helping to facilitate spiritual growth for the "young" in Christ.

I am a fairly new Believer, and in the past have study with the NIV version of the bible. I have thorougly enjoyed the KJV because I feel as though the essence of what GOD was ( and is ) speaking has been preserved. Even in the language, the bible is very easy to follow, and the footnotes help if you feel you don't quite understand. The layout is very concise, yet easy to adapt to. I love this Bible.

Compare to "Zondervan NIV Study Bible".
"Zondervan NIV Study Bible" is Better then "Zondervan KJV Study Bible". Because I have two of them,so I can say that.
And some of the charts or pictures is in "Zondervan NIV Study Bible", but Not in "Zondervan KJV Study Bible".
Two of them are almost same, just in different version.
And the "Zondervan KJV Study Bible" has less information then "Zondervan NIV Study Bible"

This is the King James Version of the NIV Study Bible--the notes are basically identical, just adapted to the KJV wording. The notes and references are plentiful--some may say there are too many! Nearly every verse of the Bible is covered with a comment or outline of some type. While this is a conservative study bible, sometimes other more liberal interpretations are listed along with the conservative position. Besides the copious and helpful notes, there is a subject index, concordance, and colored maps and a historical timeline. Interspersed throughout the entire Bible are pertinent maps, charts, outlines, etc. The KJV Study Bible also has brief word definitions or substitutions for outdated words listed in the center column, which is helpful if you prefer the KJV but stumble on some of the wording.

The binding and pages are typical Zondervan---cheap and not likely to hold up long. I have the large print edition; the print is wonderful to read, but of course makes this book HUGE and heavy--not a Bible to carry around.

All in all, this study bible will give you hours and hours of reading and study pleasure.

My wife and I both bought the new NLT STUDY BIBLE. We have been using the NLT as our primary BIBLE for study for the last 12 years, so we immediately jumped at the opportunity to acquire the new study BIBLE version of the NLT. We have compared important verses between the two versions and have found minor improvements that are not really impactful.

What makes this BIBLE the one we both will use for next 12 years over our other 40 BIBLES are the incredible notes. These are by far the most helpful notes in any study BIBLE we have ever seen. We use the NLT STUDY BIBLES everday for our evening BIBLE study and heartily endorse the NLT STUDY BIBLE to everyone who wants to grow in knowledge.

One Of The Best Bibles To Date

When I was younger I tried very hard to read the Bible. It was discouraging to read the Scriptures and not understand much of it. Years later I was fortunate enough to have a NIV Quest Bible given to me as a gift. Not only did the language finally make sense, the Bible even had side-columns with questions and answers to help me further understand the meaning behind the Scriptures.

The NIV Quest quickly became my favorite Bible, my wife and I even bought some for friends and family. Now, Tyndale House Publishers has come out with the same concept written in the beautifully translated NLT version.

For those who don't know, the NLT (or New Living Translation) is a modern English version of the Bible and is the result of of eighty-seven different translators working together to bring us an easy to understand Bible that preserves the original meaning of each Scripture. The translation was completed and published in 1996. The Second Edition of the NLT (also called the NLTse) was released in 2004 which resolved awkward wording of the original, as well as reworking some of the poetic verses into a more acceptable poetic form.

At the time of this review the NLT is the most up-to-date version of the Bible to date, making it both convenient and enjoyable to read. After looking through just a few chapters the reader can feel the natural flow of the language, which is a welcome change of pace compared to the choppiness of say...the KJV.

What gives this Bible the edge is the study notes it contains. They are very thorough, explaining the smallest detail of every passage in words that flow as nicely as the NLT scriptures themselves. The notes are readily available on every page and strategically placed on the same page as the passages they are detailing. This keeps the reader from having to turn back and forth between pages to find answers to their questions.

Combined with my Quest, this NLT Study Bible is the perfect arsenal for understanding what was handed down to us. It's nice to read from a Bible that takes the time to explain things in modern terms but is faithful to the original Scriptures.

A Very Impressive Bible!

I just received my NLT Study Bible a couple of days ago and I really love it! The first thing I was very impressed with was the "Introduction to the Bible" and "How to Study the Bible". The publishers did a great job of relating to the readers that the words of the Bible should always come first, before study notes, charts, etc., and that nothing should take the place of Scripture. They also talk about the Holy Spirit guiding you through the Bible, and that the features of the NLT Study Bible will help you to understand it better. I got a real sense that the publishers of the NLT Study Bible truly wanted to create a good, solid Study Bible that would answer questions many of us have when we read the Bible, and I feel they really hit the mark. I always did love the New Living Translation, and the NLT Study Bible has so many features in it that I don't believe you need anything else to study your Bible. I am very happy with the purchase of this Bible and would recommend it to anyone who wants a wonderful experience of reading God's Word. Thank you, Tyndale Publishers![[ASIN:1414324529 NLT Study Bible (Bible Nlt)!

I like the overall selection of versions, with the balance of the more accurate NKJV to balance the readability of the NCV and the "pop" of the Message. Also has good study notes, if not extensive. However, in a parallel I don't necessarily expect in depth study notes - that is what commentaries are for. The only draw back is the small type, but to fit all that into one book with larger type would mean the book would be even larger than it already is, so I can live with the type size.

Yes, the type is very small, but it has been worth it to me to purchase a page magnifyer. I am still learning to use it to its full potential, but I must say my favorite feature has been the NKJV study notes. They contain just the right amount of information, plus an offering of little mini-studies every now and then. This study Bible has truly enriched my ability to understand and love more deeply the Word of God.
