This is simply a retelling of the new Tinkerbell DVD's plot, with illustrations taken from the movie.
I bought it as party favors for the girls at my daughter's third birthday party. It brought rave reviews from my toddler-- but then she got the actual Tinker Bell DVD from her Grandma for her birthday. I was sure her copy of the book would fall by the wayside.
No way. She wants to watch Tinkerbell all day long on the TV, then wants to read this before bedtime. (Good grief, girl.)
She loves it (although Mommy's getting a bit sick of the story already).

This is a text book for my Science, Math, and Literacy class. It is really great and a must have. I took this to work with
me and everyone wants one. I have to share it and I'm the one with homework! lol. We are implementing 3 activities next
week. All these activites lead to language development. I like how a lot of the tasks get the children to cross the midline.
What I like most is that it tells and shows you how to set up the activities so that a child that hasn't decided on which
hand they like to use can choose for himself. If you set tools on the right side, the child will naturally pick it up with
their right hand. If you set them on top then the child will have to think about which hand to use.
This book is long overdue!

At last not only a "workbook" for the early childhood professional but one that parents can share with their children. Great
learning tools with everyday items found around the house. I saw Dr. Folds on the Health Network several years ago and it
is about time she shared her endless well of ideas with early childhood pros and parents.

I read this book when I was only 11 years old. I was a little girl(I'm 40), but it was a book I'll never forget. It taught
me an incredible lesson about how good it is to be obedient to what parents tell you,to not get involved with the wrong crowd,
and never to change your values just to follow others.

Great Read for Latchkey Kids

Although this book was written in 1957, it holds up well and many adolescents will be able to see themselves and their own
after school situations mirrored in the novel. The novel discusss the problems a 13 year old boy faces when his mother goes
back to work and he is left to his own devices during the afternoon when school is finished. Lee, the main character, falls
in with a rough crowd and soon begins skipping school, dressing like a punk and engaging in dangerous activities (e.g. hitch-hiking,
vandalism and being dishonest). The book is especially good for young adolescent boys who may also be latchkey kids who are
tempted to fall in with the wrong crowd. It's unfortunate that this book is out of print but I would recommend hunting down
a copy as it is a very enjoyable and interesting read.

What a neat way to illustrate the concept of basic addition! Our kindergarten teacher read this book to the class and it
provided an example to the children that adding numbers together can be done in a variety of ways: from simple to higher
level thinking.

I find 12 Ways to Get to 11 to be a very useful tool for the classroom. Every two pages focuses on a different way to get
to the number eleven. The pictures correspond directly to what is being said. This is a good springboard for more discussion
and work for different combinations of numbers. Teachers can take advantage of the format in which each combination is presented
and have their students come up with their own "number stories." This book provides a good alternative way of thinking about
addition.

This book will truly tug at your heart. Bullough has crafted a very nice framework around several classrooms and the lives
of the kids that make them up. The children have stories of physical abuse, growing up without one or both parents, surviving
with little or nothing to eat, and living with and among drug users. Many of these kids have had to grow up to adulthood
within the span of their eight to ten years of life. The situations that many of these kids have to live in would be enough
to crush anyone's spirits. Yet many of them have soaring attitudes and the perseverance to see themselves through -- beacons
of hope in the gloom.
Well-written, heart-rending and uplifting at the same time, and definitely worth reading.

Have you ever read a book you wanted your friends to have already read so you could talk about it with them? This is one of
those books. As teacher and teacher educator, I found in the lives of these children echoes of the lives of children and teachers
I have taught. Robert Bullough's layered analysis gives entry into the worlds of these children without being titilating
or depressing. His analysis articulates the issues of poverty, father absence, drug abuse that teachers deal with. In this
way, he connects these stories,34 children's stories, to the larger issues confronting schools and society. More importantly
I valued his respectful tone--his book communicates hope and respect for teachers, parents and most importantly these wonderful
children whose lives are uncertain. His analysis helps each of us see ways we might make a difference in the uncertain lives
of child in our own communities and shools.

I gave this product (and several others) to a young friend that recently had surgery. Being immobile is hard on young ones,
so items such as the Mad Libs for Juniors are really important. They are entertaining and help to stimulate their young minds.
I highly recommend these fun activity books!

My first and second grade students love mad libs! We complete them together as a group. I write their answers in the booklet,
and then we read the hilarious stories together. This is an easy and effective way to teach the meaning of the words noun,
verb, adjective, and adverb. Later when the students are writing, it is natural to do a pre-writing discussion or lesson
about using more descriptive adjectives... The booklets are themed, so there is one that fits every unit of study.

I was an English teacher-in-training in California, and this book was required reading. Thank heavens! Its truths have wafted
through my teaching since then -- in inner cities, suburbia, Air Force towns, and now overseas. It has an eye for what creates
good writing. Good writing, and written well. More cannot be said!

I read this book in 1973 when I was a student at Western Michigan University studying to become a teacher. Its philosophy
rings as true today as it did back then. Anyone considering the teaching profession should read this. It is a quick read,
but very powerful. Its author, Ken Macrorie, was probably the best teacher I have ever had. When I write today, I can still
remember what he taught us. I am buying this book and his textbook, Telling Writing, for my children who are reaching an age
where they are ready to learn to become better writers.

We got this for my 6 1/2 mos old and he absolutely loves it. I agree 100% with the other reviewer. He loves feeling the
different textures on each page and almost seems to anticipate whats going to be on the next page. It's not a tiny board
book (like many others) and it has large, colorful pictures which keep his attention. The pages are thick, too, so it should
last through the teething stage! I only wish it had 1 or 2 more pages to it ...

My 7 month old loves this book! It's great because he's at the age now where reading to him is hard because he wants to chew
on the pages. The pages of this book are much thicker than the average board book, so it's practically indestructible. Plus,
each page has lots of different textures that he loves to feel and it actually holds his attention. With other books, he gets
bored and looks away. He actually gets excited when mommy says "let's read about the puppies".
