This novellization of The Big Lablooski was written by none other than Amy Keating Rogers - the writer of the episode! Not
meaning to begrudge junior novellization authors their jobs, but I think this is a fantastic practice and I hope Cartoon Network
encourages more of their writers to handle junior novellizations. This is excellently written, fast-paced and quirky.

This book, along with "House of Bloo's", was our son's first foray into true chapter books. My wife and I specifically picked
books based on "Foster's", as he enjoys the show and we thought it would keep him focused.
It's hard for a printed book to capture the quirky humor of the show, but the writers did a good job in adaptation. All the funny parts of the TV episode are there, though it certainly helps to have seen the episode to appreciate the humor. Fortunately, whoever's responsible for the book's layout did a great job of including a judicious amount of stills and images. So even if you haven't seen the episode, you still get a nice visual representation of it.
And the book is written just long enough and with just enough five-dollar words to present a challenge to a 5-year old, but not so tough that reading becomes a frustration or the child is asking you for help on every other word.
I plan on buying all future chapter books in this series, or at least until my son's interest in the show starts to wane or he is no longer challenged by the reading level.
BTW - the title of the episode featured in the story is not "Let's Bowl". It's actually "The Big Lablooski". Just in case you wanted to Tivo it.

Poor Junior ... this is the third Junior/Spinwheels book that we have and Junior always seems to be having a rough day. My
2 year old and I love flipping through the pages, reading and changing the story all the time. She thinks it's funny when
we can spin the wheel and change the page over and over. She's thinks it's funny to see objects she knows in unexpected places.
The illustrations are simply brilliant -- detailed, sharp, and colorful. Hundreds of combinations make this book easy to read
over and over and over and over ...

Wayne Rice encompasses many perspectives and areas of junior high ministry. The physical, social, intellectual, emotional,
and faith areas of development within a junior higher were discussed for a more complete understanding of their changing
world. It was very informative and the book made some exceedingly good points that should be remembered when working with
this age group.
It is a quick and easy read and very informative with the basics needed. I believe that if you want to get a quick grasp with some in depth insights on junior high ministry this would be an excellent choice.

As a former teacher (1st to 12th grades) I have had the opportunity to evaluate a variety of teaching methods, tools and techniques
meant to educate and inspire children. I have always felt that children should use a hands on approach to learning and sometimes
their feet too. Sometimes you've got to turn the computer or television off and let them enjoy the real world. This book uses
a practical, do-it and learn-it approach. Kids can have fun learning about animals and picture taking, while enjoying a good
old fashioned walk through the zoo. When they're done they have a precious keepsake of their own to hold onto.

The Junior Photo Naturalist "My Trip to the Zoo" is a whole new genre of interactive kid's product. Part nature book, and
part scrapbook, it encourages kids to become involved in what they are looking at. The author uses the tried and true "questioning
technique" to get kids to consider things such as how birds of prey beaks differ from those of other birds they see at the
zoo. There are pages for children to insert their own zoo photos and little photographer's tips written at a kid's level.
I hope we will soon see other books in this series. Buy your budding naturalist / nature photographer this book and a cheap
camera and you may well have the next Ansel Adams on your hands in a few years.

We use this book as a homeschool social studies/ecology resource. Each section begins with a Native American story related
to the topic of the chapter, then moves on to a discussion of the subject matter. Each section also has activities/experiments,
questions for review and discussion, and recommendations for materials for further study. My kids really look forward to each
lesson in this book, because the information is presented in a fun manner, and the activities are appropriate for a wide-range
of ages!
I can't say enough about these books!

The entire series is excellent!!! I have all four and I highly reccomend them. They teach science, literature, native american
culture, and give children a respect for the natural world at the same time. (there is even the occasional bit of math thrown
in). My son loves doing the activities with me! Excellent for unit studies!

Our son is about to enter 3rd grade and this book offers a great way to review during the summer months. The fun illustrations
keep him entertained when other workbooks are drab. Our younger son is working in the Kindergarten level for his review
and is excited to get to the page with the sheep. I just wish they offered 3rd grade in this series as it is the only workbook
the boys ask to use.

Four years ago I retired from the military and came back to education. One of the first expenditures I made was this book--the
best decision I made at that time. This book, full of wonderfully thoughtful "boiler plate" in English and Spanish, really
helped me out as a bilingual elementary teacher in La Joya, Texas. This is a definite must buy for a starting teacher--when
will the author do an update?

Once again (Hawthorn Press) have recognised the importance of such a book as Betty Pecks' "Kindergarten Education" with a
simple view of the truely, important and sort after teaching methods any pre-school carer can benefit from.
I was especially impressed with the way in which ceremony and traditional values so beautifully colour grey subjects, like death and retirement.
All parents want to share the wonders of creativity with their children, but sometimes just get a little sidetracked or don't know where to begin. With Betty's help, I now take joy in watching as my son embraces the world with a new passion, which in turn allows me to share with him the soulful journey I missed in my own upbringing.
We are both truely loving the nourishment we receive from these words of love and wisdom. This is a must read book for any parent or pre-school carer.

KINDERGARTEN EDUCATION by Betty Peck is wonderfully inspiring. Drawing a lot on Steiner and Waldorf kindergarten principles,
it describes how a truly inspired and experienced teacher weaves magic into her kindergarten program. This is no text-book,
but an anecdotal journey into Ms Peck's kindergarten program - capturing the magic of a kindergarten world that is firmly
centred in 'the garden', the seasons, real work, fairy-tales, imagination, learning through nature and story and play and
concrete experience. I found so many wonderfully inspiring ideas for injecting some 'magic' into parenting my kindergarten-aged
child...how I wish all children could have a kindergarten experience like that lovingly described by Betty Peck. A beautiful
book. Highly recommended to anyone interested in old-fashioned kindergarten education that evokes the imagination and magic
of childhood rather than early academics. You couldn't dream of a more magical and inspiring kindergarten programme if you
tried. Delicious! Inspiring! Hopefully a look into the future of kindergraten education.
