Australian Wildlife Christmas NativityReview Date: 2007-10-23
The great story though is let down by very average illustrations by Kerry Argent, which is a shame as those who have read the wombat tale Sebastian Lives in a Hat know she can do a very good job when she puts in the effort and can draw very realistic looking wombats. None of the Australian animals in Wombat Devine actually resemble the Australian wildlife they are supposed to be. Wombat looks like a bear, the emu for some reason has wings that can come out of the front of its body like arms which emus in real life no doubt wish for but don't have, the echidna is just the platypus with a lot of yellow triangles coming out of its body, the bilby looks like a rabbit (no wonder Mem Fox dumped this illustrator and went with Pamela Lofts for the sensational Hunwick's Egg where the bilby actually looks like a bilby.

Great CookbookReview Date: 2000-03-23
1) I considered myself more of a virtual cook, than an actual cook. Once I purchased Women of Great Taste, that changed. I actually cook recipes now rather than just talking about how good the recipe might be.
2) I always get rave reviews when I serve recipes from this book.
3) This is a beautiful book with terrific recipes. I have recommended it to many friends and family members.
4) Proceeds from Junior League books support community projects.
5) I use it more than any other cookbook I own, and I own dozens of cookbooks.

Passed at the HIGHEST LEVELReview Date: 2008-12-26
I followed the study plan at the back of the book, wrote out flashcards, and read through the book a few times until I knew it all. I felt fine on the day of the test and handled the questions easily. I got to the essays and actually wished they had been a bit harder because I had practiced with harder questions!
I've told everyone in my classes about this book. Don't be fooled by the low price. This book is great, worth all the money, really prepares you, and would be good to keep when you are a teacher to refer back to.

Review: Besty w as a JuniorReview Date: 2002-02-01
Besty was a Junior, by Muad Hart Lovelace, has its good and bad poitns. Some of the bad points were that charcters were always happy mopst of the time, and that was very unrealistic. The good points were thoguh, that it was a very fun book to read, and there never was a dull moment.
As a result I would rate this bok a 9 out of 10, mostly because it was very exciting, and captivating. I would definatly recomend this book.

These books reminded of the "Little House" books and I hope someone makes a TV series out of these stories. They are timeless.

I learned of this book at a lunch where one of the cookbook's praiseworthy recipes was served. There was almost a stunned silence when the group learned I didn't have it on my bookshelf. Well, I do now and don't regret it for a minute. American cuisine has long been extremely underrated.

Colorado CacheReview Date: 2007-10-09
Southern cookbooks should reflect Southern cooking traditions and so on.
Colorado Cache is a very inviting collection of newer cooking traditions, often new twists on older recipes. Great gift for newlyweds, as it reflects more recent but dependable trends in cuisine. Always keep in mind that a Jr. League cookbook has earned its price if it only generates 4 to 6 favorite recipes for you! Colorado Cache provides wonderful Denver summer and winter favorites.
