This Anatomy and Physiology textbook is AMAZING! It is filled with vast amounts of information that are tremendously useful for a future in medicine. It is one text that you should NOT sell back! The information covered in this text will be used guaranteed everyday in the medical field. Especially wonderful are the clinical application sections. My professor was a cardiologist and he would often mention that his neurologist friends said our neuro-text was extremely detailed, more so than they had in medical school! Also, the chemistry is VERY detailed. I would suggest having a chem. course prior to this material, it will make your understanding in the chem. sections far greater as to how they pertain to the makeup of our being.

Better deal than the college bookstore

My daughter is taking Anatomy & Physiology I in Tennessee. The college bookstore wanted $225 for new and $185 for used. I was able to get this from Amazon before the price went up.... for $121.00 It was delivered by UPS to her house in less than a week.

Even though I live in Canada, the ease of using Amazon has never failed me when I order merchandise for myself, my children or grandchildren in the States. Amazon has never ever let me down. I have dealt with their customer service once....when UPS was delivering it to my daughter's apartment and was letting anybody sign for it and she never got the merchandise. Amazon was more than helpful in rectifying the problem when it was not even their responsibility or their fault.

I encourage all college students and/or parents, to check Amazon before purchasing books through the campus book store. On this particular book, I saved $100.

After going about six years without reading a traditional anatomy and physiology text, I was surprised at the advanced level that this book has reached, as compared to the texts I read during the first few years of this decade. This book offers numerous resources, from special pathological sections to online excercises. In addition, every chapter offers highly detailed diagrams and little tidbit sections to help students better understand the material. Thus, no matter what type of learner you are, this book will offer a way to learn the text that totally fits your style. For those who learn better by seeing and listening, the online material will be helpful and the diagrams in the book are quite comprehensive. For those who learn better by simply reading the text, this book provides the material in regular paragraphs, charts, and advanced diagrams. Finally, for those who are already familiar with the material, and just need a quick review, the end of each chapter has a comprehensive, but terse summary of the material.

¡Ay, no !
MI SUEGRO ME REGALO ESTE LIBRO...ese mismo día,Joanna y yo nos fuimos al parque con sandwiches y abandonamos la fortaleza en manos de nuestro hijo...
SOLO 2 MESES DESPUES...¡SANTO REMEDIO !
Casi le prendemos veladoras al libro, tan leído que nos lo sabemos de memoría...
SI OYES UN TAMBORAZO, ¡CORRE A COMPRARLO ANTES DE QUE OIGAS EN TROMPETAZO, AMIGO !

Then Again Maybe I Wont is a really good book. I do not have a favorite part of this story because it is all really good. It is about a thirteen year old Tony whos dad got rich and the family moved to long Island in New York. It really intrests me when Tony falls down in the sidewalk because he has a nervous stomach because his friend stole from the store. He has to go to the docter and gets a counselor. I think that you will like it as much as meif you read it and give 5 stars just like me.

I had to purchase this book for a U.S. government class that I took. I found this book well organized with memorable examples. Moreover, it has key words and concepts printed on the edges, which makes it easy to study and helps to focus on the main points. The authors also took advantage of graphic organizers. Furthermore, they picked up current events and created "to-think-about boxes." I love history, but always thought that politics is a bit tedious. Yet, with the exception of one or two topics I found this book very engaging.

This is a great text, with a great combination of Text (for the pathology) and the Technique (well drawn, with step by step illustrations). A great text that would actually 'get you through the operation' on a call night of most hand surgery procedures commonly encountered. Not the kind of data that will pass your boards...but the kind of data that will help you help treat the patient. A great supplement to your hand surgery library

As a bilingual elementary school educator, I read much children's literature in both English and Spanish for personal pleasure. Frank Tashlin's portayal of a wild bear habitat being "gobbled up" by sprawl and big business, as well as the bear's efforts and the problems he faced proving his credibility and identity that he IS A BEAR hits close to home in the 2000s. Although Tashlin wrote this book in the mid-1900s, it is applicable to life in the United States today. The book gives an ecology lesson to children today, it allows children to see the difficulties others face - in this case the bear's problems, but most of all - it's just a darling read for children and adults in both Spanish and Engish, ( I read the book in Spanish first.)

Even in this age of online databases, print editions of encyclopedias have their necessary place within personal, professional, academic, and community library reference collections. This is especially true of the new Facts On File seven volume "Encyclopedia Of World History". The collaborative editorial work of Marsha E. Ackermann, Michael J. Schroeder, Janice J. Terry, Jiu-Hwa Lo Upshur, and Mark F. Whitters, the "Encyclopedia Of World History" provides an informed and informative, balanced and globally oriented perspective on human history in full accordance with academic standards for history. Enhanced with thematic essays designed to assist students in making comparisons and connections across different regions and time periods; primary source documents representative of six distinct world eras; cross-referenced entries; a chronology for each individual volume; more than 600 illustrations (including a 32-page insert of full color maps) for each volume in order to convey the importance of geography within the context of world history; recommended reading sections for further study; individual volume indexes and a comprehensive set index, "Encyclopedia Of World History" is an essential and core addition that is as praiseworthy for its 'user friendly' layout as it is for its breadth and comprehensive coverage of recorded history.

Well the good things about this textbook have been said, but one of the most useful things i found about this textbook was the website support. There are only 10 questions at the end of the chapters, but there are tons of exercises, which really do help, in the website. The study guide is also helpful and helps you understand the more tricky details that might miss.

This supplemental material is great for people who are visual learners, as they have plenty of animations to help you understand the topics. Would highly recommend any text from this publisher.

I'm still quite fond of this little gem of a book--maybe it's the fact that it was written for charity and is thus calling out to me, but it's still a heck of a lot of fun to have a little "extra" for my Harry Potter collection, though I like to think the copy owned by Harry is a bit thicker.

But one still has to give it up for J. K. Rowling turning her considerable talents to the lore she has suggested in the main series.

While nothing is necessary for HP appreciation, this is handy and gives you a geeky insight into those nit-picky Quidditch details.

The organization and writing is adorable and tongue-in-cheek, and the "signs of use" are awesome.

They should add this to our History of Magic class.

Earlier this year Professor Binns assigned us a written report. History of Magic being the most boring class at Hogwarts, I was dreadding this assignment. That is, until I found a copy of QUIDDITCH THROUGH THE AGES in the school library.

In his book, Kennilworthy Whisp discusses the evolution of Quidditch, racing brooms, the rules of the game, the pro-teams and their infamous incidents throughout the years.

Another addition to the Harry Potter world

This is a great addition to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It creates the feeling that all the history in it really happened. It makes the background to the game of Quidditch seem as real as any other game or event however; makes it exciting to read rather than normal history. There are also great pictures that accompany certain articles. A must have for any Harry Potter fan.

Quidditch Through the Ages

Review Date: 2004-07-05
Quidditch Through the Ages is a sort of addition to the Harry Potter series. If you've read the Harry Potter books, you probably remember the characters talking about what a wonderful, exciting and informative book it is.

I kind of expected it to be longer, but I suppose that you can't get everything you want... all in all, for an additional book I thought that it was pretty okay. The best things about it were the little comments and tid bits that made it really seem like a book from the Hogwarts library.... the card in the front that has the names of all the kids that checked it out, the introduction from Dumbledore, and the conversion from dollars to sickles and knuts on the back are all really cool.

If you're a Harry Potter fan, you have to get this, if just to ease your curiosity on what it's about. But beware- this book has no plot and reads pretty darn boring, except for a few select parts. It clears up quite a bit of the fourth book's Quidditch Cup, and if there are any more matches in future books, I suggest keeping this close at hand.

This is rated G, and is really really tame. The fifth book was kind of crazy, what with the teen angst and such, but this takes you back to the happy, carefree world of Harry Potter.
