An exeptional read with really practical tips

Sheila Kritzinger explains in laymans terms many of the causes of incessant crying in infants. As complex as this problem is, she makes it easy to understand which in turn helps one implement her ideas for handling the fussy baby.

I am an Occupational Therapist with an in-depth knowledge of the subject myself and have no hesitation in recommending this book.I am just devastated that this book is out of print as I've only been able to read a library's copy. This is a book every parent should have on their bookshelves.

This book was a god-send. I bought it after my baby was born, and wish I had gotten it before. I had a very difficult baby who had major dramas sleeping. This book offered lots of very helpful advice, and helped debunk some of the myths out there.

This book is a must read for any expectant parents.

This is a book in a Phonics series of Wonder Books which has precious pictures and simple text. We checked it out from the library and my four year old learned the text after only reading it a few times. The photos keep children interested and the text helps them learn phonics. I want the whole set for my children.

ADORABLE!

I love this book! Daisy, the central character is a pregnant anvil-headed English bull terrier. She acts like the real baby in that household, creating rivalry between herself and her owners' child. She sits in the baby's high chair, uses the baby's tooth paste, throws herself into the baby's stroller and tries to act like the baby in the house. When Daisy has her 3 beautiful puppies, the baby is glad because he no longer has to compete with the clever Daisy.

The pictures and tone of the story will captivate all ages. Nobody will EVER forget that lovable anvil-headed mama dog!

Finger on the Pulse of Motherhood!

This is simply an outstanding collection of poetry on the feelings of love a mother feels for her child - whether that relationship is biological or adopted and ranging in age from a child in utero to a teenage child. It manages to accurately describe situations and emotions without the sappy "greeting card" prose you find all too often in poetry on motherhood and it also avoids the cynical, sarcastic and often caustic interpretations of motherhood found so frequently in modern literature. I highly recommend this book for new mothers and experienced mothers alike!

Chaz Corzine asked a very special question to numerous men and women. The question was "What words of wisdom and inspiration would you pass on to a new baby?". The answers they gave are collected and presented in Dear Baby: A Very Special Welcome To Life! This compendium of advice, counsel, and encouragement is an ideal babyshower gift and welcome reading for any expectant parent. "Live Your life, little one. Live it fully and fearlessly. Laugh often and cry when you must. And know that you are His." Kathy Lee Gifford.

I bought this book based on the picture shown and customer reviews. I LOVE IT!! It is exactly what I was looking for...a beautiful baby book that isn't at all "cutesy". It contains all the information I want to document for my baby and is illustrated beautifully. The only things I don't like are the burgundy spine (purple would match the cover better) and that there isn't a diagram with the tooth chart. Otherwise I love this baby book and highly recommend it!

Why do the books toddlers truly love go out of print?
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2000-06-09
I suppose it's because parents, not the children themselves, pick the books. My daughter loves this one and asks for it again and again. True, I went through a phase of being very tired of the sing-song rhymes. However, I've also realized how many messages she's taken from the book, including her first word (turtle). It's helped give her words to describe her life, and that's a great thing for books to do.
