My 14 month old loves to look at out Sesame Street screen saver. Until I found this series, she didn't have any other real
pictures to look at. She is always intrigued by this book. It combines her 2 favorite things: babies and the muppets.
I don't know what it is about this book....

... But my baby *adores* it. She literally giggles with delight when I get it out. She loves looking at the babies; and
it is not just any babies, I have lots of books with babies. Something about the babies in THIS BOOK really just clicks with
her. We have read it over, and over, and over again. BTW I started reading this book with my baby when she was about 6 months
old and she is now 11 months old. :)

I got this for my daughter on her 21st birthday because it was her favorite before she could read or talk. She loved the baby
illustrations. We went through this book so many times she used to say "no, no, no" in anticipation before we turned the page
where the baby spills the contents of Momma's purse. Glad to see this is still around. Share this with your 1, 2, 3 or 4 year
old. Wonderful.

This charming picture book is loads of fun for both toddlers and their parents. It teaches category concepts (foods, pets,
toys, accidents, etc.) by following five very different families through a day any parent of a two year old won't have trouble
imagining. The many imbedded sight gags keep the older generation on their toes without detracting from the books' value
for the little ones.

This is one of the few resources that equip new parents with a "lesson plan" for interacting in positive, productive, and,
most importantly, fun ways. Not all of us, after all, can recall the nursery rhymes, songs, and games we played as an infant!
This resource helps bring back the once familiar and introduces new ones as well. In an age that pushes us to produce independent
little "baby einsteins," it is refreshing to have the voice of a respected pediatrician call us to action for just plain fun
time, interacting one-on-one with our instinctively interdependent, social babies.
Highly recommended all-in-one play pack.

What an excellent idea! This pack contains all the essential items and topics required for the growth and development of
your young baby. It is especially suitable for first - time parents who are bombarded with so much information on how to
ensure the stimulation and development of their baby and dont know where to start. I found it very simple to use and also
quite exciting and could not wait to introduce a new topic, excercise or toy. My husband was thrilled with this find of
ours and he really enjoyed being able to contribute to our son's learning experience through stimulation and play.
The crucial first year! Toys, Games and activities...

When you shake this "book style" play pack, you can hear the musical rattle inside. The rattle helps a baby to acquire a mature
grip which later will help in writing. In fact, this "book" opens up to reveal a number of fun activities for you and your
baby. The three foam toys are covered in various materials. The surface, color, shape and sound of each block will fascinate
and amuse. The Music tape (Mozart Beethoven, Handel, Vivaldi and Bach) will help to stimulate the part of your baby's brain
that is responsible for math, logic, concentration and speech.
There is a cute wall banner which will help your newborn baby to stimulate recognition and memory. It is not something your child could play with as it is just made out of paper and could easily tear. It is just a very small item and could be put up on the wall so you could point to images of a cat or pig and say the sound each animal makes. The mobile is easy to assemble and must also be kept out of the babies reach. If placed 8-10 inches above the crib, it will help to stimulate vision from birth.
I turned over a smiley face on a piece of cardboard and found myself, well..looking at me :). It is a mirror you can hold above our baby's face so she can study her reflection and begin to develop a sense of self. Because various types of play will encourage your child to develop in different ways, there is a set of "48 game cards." Each card encourages all aspects of a baby's development. Every card shows a fun activity. Fun and familiar rhymes like "This little Piggy" are fun and help a child to be more aware of their feet.
The included "Baby's Skill Book" is just wonderful as it presents hundreds of easy ways to encourage your baby's month-by-month progress throughout the first year. A "golden hour" time clock shows the games and activities that will be particularly good at various stages of development. During the wakeful times, you can help to promote his innate desires to communicate and play.
All I have to say is..."How did parents survive without all this information in the past?" Dr. Miriam sure has it all organized for the new mom and dad.

This is a tender, moving and realistic account of the perseverance of love and the preciousness of life. Not only is it a
testament to advancements in pediatric care, it's meaningful to children and families who were blessed with healthy births.
This sweet book teaches compassion, and ambition in the face of adversity. A warm and satisfying book to read with your kids

This is a wonderful uplifting book which would be especially reassuring to siblings and cousins of a premature baby. I think
it's a " must have" book for children who were premies themselves. Through beautiful illustrations and thorough knowlege
of the struggle of these babies, the reader is led to never forget the power of a Mother's love, and to never give up.

This book is wonderful for parents of preemies and for the medical professionals caring for them. As a Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit Registered Nurse I know that all too often the importance of a mother's touch, and the individuality of the infant,
are forgotten. I keep a copy of this book on my bookshelf to help remind me never to forget that mom is sometimes just
as effective as technology, and certainly more important. This book does a wonderful job of discussing the long-term outcomes
of "preemiehood" and makes those things seem minor in the scheme of things. It shows that even though preemies are not
always "normal," they are always unique and special. No matter how many times I read it, this book never fails to bring
tears to my eyes, because sometimes belief in a preemie truly is the most essential tool for their survival and success.

As background material for this book, the reader is referred to "The Scientist in the Crib" (Dr. Gopnik, et al; Perrenial,
2001). It offers a fresh and detailed evaluation of the language acquisition process by infants. At about 6 months of age,
a critical change seems to occur. The specific pronunciation patterns of the language(s) heard begin to be retained in a
very focused manner. Also see "The Monday Tape" (The Snow Water Corporation) at Akilo.com for more insight into this process.
This audio tape, one of a series, provides multilingual speech patterns for infants. These tapes are available exclusively
through Amazon.com (not available in stores). It appears that they should help an infant (birth to age 2) gain good pronunciation
skills for many widely used languages.

to understand, and extremely informative. I highly recommend it to any expectant mother or father!

This book was great!!
Don't let the year the book was written make your decision to buy because the information that Dr. Ginott provides in this book is relevant to our teenagers today. He provides solid advice along with senarios of how to deal with particular situations. This is not a book that you have to read from cover to cover, you can start anywhere in the book depending on the situation at hand.
This is definitely a must have for all parents and educators.

As a photographer and the proud owner of 26 images published in this book I should also admit that my review might be a tad
biased. Still, I was completely impressed with the presentation of this coffee table book. The images featured showcase a
variety of styles from your totally adorable every day snapshots, to some truly stunning professional portraits in addition
to several very famous images of celebrity babies. The sentiments added to the pages seem to bring just the right touch to
the photographs. Well designed and well printed, this is a must have for anyone who loves babies!

There are some really unique and cute baby patterns in this book, especially the blankets. Each project includes a blanket,
hat and booties that coordinate, which is nice. Most patterns are pretty easy, and the instuctions are very easy to follow.
The only downside for me, is that about 1/2 the patterns are crochet, and I don't know how to crochet. But the knitting patterns
are so cute that I still would buy the book.

I have several pattern books for knitting and crocheting baby items and this is now my newest favorite! The baby sock pattern
alone is worth buying the book--the socks were easy to make (and I am NOT a sock knitter!) and they actually fit a newborn.
I have not made all the items in the book yet but the things I have made were easy and fun. And I love the fact that it has
both knitting and crochet patterns--I think more and more people are beginning to do both and it's nice to have a book that
offers both.
