My daughter already had the purple set, so we got this one because Kazam was her favorite. All the little books are easy,
predictable and fun. They are perfect for beginning readers.

These sets contain 10 books that each tell a very short story with a funny ending through repetition. Illustrations are done
well, characters are memorable. Child feels a sense of accomplishment as the set contains a chart with stickers for each book
completed, a certificate of completion and a "BLANK" book for the child to author/illustrate their own book. Set also contains
a parent guide. Our son loves these books... highly motivated him into a reader. He is the top reader in his kindergarten
class and now has the love of books/reading that will pull him along through his education at a heightened pace.

I bought these books for my grandson who is in Kindergarten. After changing schools mid-year he was slow to grasp reading.
I thought these books might be just his level and because the adult reads a summery of the story first he has found books
he can read. The confidence these books gave him to continue was amazing. He now has gone one to slightly harder books but
he still loves these.

We have purchased other Brand New Readers sets, and have never been disappointed yet. Our kids (5 1/2 year old son and almost
3 year old daughter) love the simple stories and illustrations, and while our son is sounding out the words, his little sister
is enthusiastically shouting out the story based on the picture clues and memorization. They both feel a huge sense of accomplishement
when they read to us, and we all love the humor used in the stories. Move over Dick and Jane; Brand New Readers make learning
how to read fun!

I read the Little Brown Bear series to my 2-year old grandson every day. He absolutely loves the stories! Each book teaches
a simple lesson which allows the child to learn while being entertained. A wonderful series for children who are learning
how to read.

My husband and I are turning our uninspired 1968 tract home into a 2 story Mediterranean. We bought the Kitchen & Bath collection
to help us in the design phase. These are not "do it yourself" books. Instead, they help you focus on how to design a kitchen
or bath that will work for you. They discuss types of flooring, counters, cabinets, lighting, and how to design a space that
"works" for your lifestyle and that "flows" well within your floorplan. We have lots of other books with lots of pretty pictures
of designer kitchens & baths but these books were the most useful when we finally sat down with our architect. Without them,
we would have never thought to include a lot of the little touches that helped to maximize our kitchen space for the way we
cook (canning, cake decorating, candy making, entertaining) or how to make the best use of our bathroom space (extra storage
and accessibility) since I have a disability. You might think that your architect would help you with all these things but
don't count on it. The clearer your ideas are and the better you are able to articulate those ideas to your architect, the
better your design is going to fit your lifestyle and the happier you will be when the project is finished.

The illustration style is great complements the text well. The one thing bothers me is the boy in the story appears older
than he should be. But if you get by that, it is a fun book after your child's bath time.
My kids want to read this book every night!

Fantastic creative story. My three year old and my five year old love this story. They quote sentences from this book while
in the bath! Great book to give as a gift as well.

Captain Bob is one of my kids' favorite characters. CAPTAIN BOB SETS SAIL is another winner, with gorgeous, up-close illustrations
and a fun storyline.
While taking his bath, Bob imagines himself the Captain, setting sail on the open sea, dodging the waterfalls, and avoiding the many hidden dangers of the tumultuous open waters.
Definitely a great bedtime story, and also great for beginning readers, who will be able to pick up on some of the repetitive words.

This large lavishly colored book is a favorite of my almost-5 year old nephew and his almost-3 sister. The pictures are very
close in, making young Captain Bob a titan in his bath as he deals with waterfalls, ships, and dinosaurs (!), a cute reference
to the real life assortment of toys children often take into the tub. It's the kind of book my nephew memorizes from repeated
readings and insists on "reading" back to me. Very cute!
Fun to Read!

I read both Capt. Bob books to my son when he was 2-3, now he's 4 1/2 and we're reading them again. They're written with great
energy. Favorites in our stack of books.

Someone is kidnapping overweight women in Bath and starving them to death. The police have dubbed the kidnapper "Dr. Adkins."
Painter and private investigator Chris Honeysett accidentally stumbles across the second victim, who is still alive. For
revenge, the kidnapper has taken a friend of Peter's and it's up to Peter to follow the clues and find his friend before she,
too, is dead.
How wonderful to find a book set in a location new to me; and one with such a long and interesting history. But that's probably the think I liked best about the book. As an investigator, Honeysett is a bit of a klutz and wouldn't get far without his friends. I also have, what is coming to be, my usual complaint about an author assuming the reader has read the first book and the lack of character development. I'm beginning every author should be required to read Ed McBain who, in less than 200 pages, could construct a tight multi-threaded plot, create a strong sense of place and make you know each of the characters in the process. I'm not saying this is a bad book--it did keep me turning the pages and wanting to find out how it ended--but I keep waiting for books to be great rather than just good. However, if you are intrigued by the setting of Bath, it's worth checking out of the library.
