A Good Story for Little Ones!Review Date: 2002-04-23
The book states it is for ages 2 to 4. I think it would be more accurate from about 1 to 3. I think a four year old would get bored as the book is rather simple.
The illustrations in this book are pretty good for this kind of book.
I recommend this book as a good way to start teaching your child about Jesus the Good Shepherd.

Great for people who want to dye their own yarnsReview Date: 2001-01-31
She has many motifs that would work well for afghans or knitted bedspreads or smaller projects such as hats or scarves.
If you already dye yarn with drink mix, this book could inspire you onward and upward.

Beautiful to look at, but requires expert skillsReview Date: 2007-11-26
Don't expect any circular knitting, chunky yarns, machine knitted short-cuts. There is also no instruction on how to do intarsia knitting, or any other technique. The book assumes the reader has a thorough working knowledge of all the techniques and basics.
This is not to say the book is of no value to the less-skilled knitter. It is inspiring in its use of color, pattern and texture. A less-skilled knitter could use some of the motifs on a more limited basis, and use the book as encouragement to stretch her abilities.

Fun BookReview Date: 2008-09-10
This book is a guide to redesigning, recycling, and renewing your wool sweaters; you'll transform knits that have been felted into eco friendly sweaters, bags, and accessories.

Beautiful, Unusual SweatersReview Date: 2001-01-30
She has drawn out her charts, rather than used the usual typewritten symbols, which lends extra charm to the book. Also, she has squares of color so you can more easily match yarns, if you can't find her line of yarns.
I hope this book comes out in paper--it is a shame that it is out of print.

Refreshingly wearableReview Date: 2008-04-21
I think the author was a bit ahead of her time, publishing when there were so many new knitters, many of whom were into novelty yarns and quick knits. I found this collection a wonderful change of pace from most of what was out there (or still is, although finer stuff is finally getting published).
That said, I'm comfortable with substituting yarns (e.g. wool for cotton) and altering things like neck lines and finishes and did this on the only sweater I've made yet from the book (a sweater I love and get many compliments on). I really really do prefer charts and consider their lack the only disappointment with this wonderful collection (and the reason it didn't get five stars from me -- I would give it ten if it had charts).
If you have kintted your first sweater and want to move up, this book is it.Review Date: 2008-04-11

Enjoy these wonderful patterns!!
Another note---these patterns mainly use Scheepjes yarn, but it is easily substituted with another brand of similar weight, and some of the patterns just say "worsted" and don't give a brand, so you can use whatever you like!
