Shoes Books

This book was a great disappointment. The title of the book would make it seem as if it a book for high heel lovers. On the contrary, it describes all the negative and medical aspects of wearing high heels, including DEATH! If you are a woman who loves wearing beautiful shoes, don't waste your time. It is nothing more than the same warnings your mom told you about.

The purpose of obtaining a SAMPLE of this book is to see what the content is like. To NOT include that is not helpful to the buyer. All that you can see is a rough index, that does NOT include content of any part of the book. Remove a page or two of the index and put in one or two pages of the book itself for an appropriate review of the book.

It's very boring, pictures of old shoes , i think they picked the worst shoes from late 90's.

I was hoping for a book showing techniques of making shoes. What I got was a tiny book of pictures of people who make shoes. Not all of them are actually making shoes in the pictures. If you are looking for pictures of "forgotten crafts" this is a nice little book. If you are interested in how shoes are made, forget it.

I was extremely dissapointed in reading this book. It contains hundreds of pages of background information of why the British Government (and their parliament) could not collect enough money to build up the Singapore Naval Base. Well, okay I thought, let's read about the attack and surrender, but there are only a few pages of that and that portion is very hazy. No great story of defense and capture. Just boring excuse after excuse why the Brits couldn't built it up properly because of their committments on the other side of the world. A no-action bummer. Very disappointing.

This is just the students manual... Unless you have the manager's software, it's useless!

I purchased the Kindle version of this book after cruising Amazon for a good book on Walking, as I was converting from a running program to a walking program. I saw this one listed and thought, "Well, it's so cheap, even if it's bad it can't be THAT bad, right?" Oh my, how wrong I was.

Within just the first 1/2 dozen pages the thing that struck me immediately was that this book is either a very bad translation from another language, or it was written (and then presumably published) by a person for whom English is not their first language. I have an employee from another country, and when he writes emails or documents they often have to be strongly edited because of the "broken" use of English that is sometimes typical of someone for whom English is not their native tongue. This book is written in the same manner. Fragmented sentences, sentences you have to read several times to figure out what the author actually MEANT to say, sentences one after the other that have no relation to the previous sentences, etc. It was MADDENING to read, and after the first dozen pages (gave it the ol' college try), I first thought I'd just delete the book from the Kindle and then decided to return it to Amazon, on principle. Yes, it cost less than $2.00 - but STILL.

Why no info in this review on content? Because there really isn't any in this book, at least if the first dozen pages or so are any indication. Once you are able to decipher the sentences, they're so incredibly BASIC as to be worthless - things like "Walking makes you healthy." Well... duh..

This must be a self-published book by someone who wanted to venture into electronic-book land in a last ditch attempt to make some money. I was disappointed in Amazon's collection of walking books that are also available in Kindle - even some basic "Walking for Dummies" type books are available as hardbacks but not Kindle version. Which led me to this book, one of the few that is available in Kindle. I would have been much better off to just buy a hardback book of some repute. This one is simply awful.

Please note: I've NEVER, never written a bad review on a book at Amazon. Not once. If I didn't like the book, I'd just toss it aside. This is an exception because it is SO bad it should not even be listed here.
