This story is the true story of a farmer who turned American Baptist minister and ended up a missionary to the race track
"trackers" and how he also became a missionary from the racetrack to the churches. God's love within a country boy helped
a subculture usually rejected by their communities find God in language they could understand.

We love this book. I have two boys that we read to every night, and this is one of the favorites. There is a valuable lesson
in this book which is especially poignant to our 4-year-old who likes to act out sometimes. Well written, and fun to read...we
especially like the pink fuzzy slippers. I would buy this book as a gift for anyone who has or knows children.
A great children's book! Parents will love this one!

This is a great book. I highly reccomend it. I have two young boys and they love the book because of its magical story line.
As a parent, I love it because it teaches a great lesson. Just FYI, the book is softcover, eventhough the website says it
is hardcover. Still worth it!

Put On Your Dancin' Shoes has something positive to say to virtually anyone. Geared for women, the message in this book reaches
out to the most manly of men and the women they love. This isn't a "do more, be more, give more" mantra like so much of whats
out there. This book will encourage and motivate you through it's great graphic presentation, poignant and hilarious quotes,
and delightfully well told stories about everyday people who took this message to heart and are enjoying a more fulfilling
life as a result of it. Buy a copy and if you don't like it, give it away. That may very well be your "first dance step"!

As I read Liz Heaney's lovely book and enjoyed the poignant photographs, I could almost hear gently lilting music inviting
me to join the dance (and I'm a man!). Put on Your Dancin' Shoes is a gorgeous little book that offers women a refreshing,
freeing insight into living life fully and joyfully no matter what their circumstances might be. I plan to give copies to
my wife and daughters because it will help diffuse their stressful lives and give them new vision, focus, and pizzazz. Besides
it's a great, fun read.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes has a remarkable ability to teach through storytelling. She weaves a story that is vivid, beautiful,
and powerful. Her insights that are shared through her interpretation of the classic story of the Red Shoes were very helpful
to me in understanding more about the nature of addiction. The tape helped me to envision a way out of the spiral of addiction
and I found it very comforting and helpful.

My son liked this book when he was between 1 and 2. Your child will be able to name objects familiar to him as well as naming
colors. This book is beautifully put together and is the perfect short length for a 1 year old child. Highly recommended.
This book would also make a great birthday gift for a 1 year old.

My 1-1/2 year old daughter loves this book. She is learning her colors. There are eight pictures with one color including
a red clock, blue mitten, yellow show, purple flower, an orange, green leaf, brown bear and black cat. The color is spelled
out at the bottom of each page. So many of the books teaching colors have too many items on a page. I think this one is
wonderful for young toddlers. It's great for the bath too.

Imaginatively written and colorfully illustrated by M.D. Osborne, "The Rescue of Mr. Goldsmith is accompanied by a dramatic
recording of the story on CD. "The Rescue Of Mr. Goldsmith" is the story of some neighborhood birds who are busy eating seeds,
berries and insects to help them survive the long dark days of a quickly approaching winter. But eating isn't the only thing
in a bird life! When a starving golden beetle needs help, a chickadee, a cardinal, a junco, and even a greedy little nuthatch
help him out. "The Rescue Of Mr. Goldsmith is a charming, original, and very highly recommended story for children that, in
addition to being wonderfully entertaining, also carries an implicit and positive message to young readers about the worthwhileness
of helping others.

I was pleasantly surprised reading The Rescue of Mr. Goldsmith. The story is well-crafted, humorous, and carries a warm message.
I enjoyed each of the characters, especially Nutty, the cantankerous nuthatch. In an era of "everybody for themselves," Rescue
reminds us of the responsibilities we have for each other and of the unforeseen rewards of caring and generosity. The author
has skillfully anchored a variety of proverbs into the story and has issued a challenge to her young readers at the conclusion
of the story to find each of the proverbs that are scattered throughout the text. The illustrations are uniquely creative,
produced "with gouache, paper scraps, colored pens and pencils," adding an aura of authenticity to a book where the primary
characters are birds.
In short, I would recommend The Rescue of Mr. Goldsmith without reservation. It is a story that should be entertaining for young and old readers alike.

I downloaded a free sheet music sample of Rain at Ghost Dance Canyon Trail at [the artist's website] and liked it so much
I purchased the book and CD. The eleven solos in this book are as much fun to play as they are to listen to. It is great
to find new music to play that is uplifting and beautiful. I also enjoy the descriptions of each piece which help me imagine
these scenic spots as I play. If you play piano, you will love these solos!

"This is the way I heard the beauty and grandeur of the Shawnee National Forest in my days there." ~Zola Van
If you enjoy listening to the inspiring music by Zola Van on her CDs, you can now play her music with the sheet music of her compositions. The pieces convey joy, anticipations and exhilaration. There are also a few times filled with sadness, but overall all the selections make your heart soar as you take a hike across 88 keys.
Zola has a deep understanding of nature and captures a majestic beauty in her piano solos. Now you can play all 11 original compositions or ever order this as a companion to her CD. There are a number of headnotes (similar to the liner notes) on each composition explaining her inspiration for each solo.
You might also enjoy: "A Coloring Book for the Journey," also based on the CD by Zola Van. Children can color in Monarch butterflies or color in a picture of the Barred Owl at Panther's Den.

I found this book for my son, since his name is Sam, for his first birthday. Although he's a bit too young now to sit through
the entire story, I have no doubt that he will love hearing a story about "him" when he gets a little older.

What an easy way to learn a little piece of history! This book is not only interesting with its story line about an old tradition
with shoes, but it is visually pleasing as well. I find it equally enjoyed by my 12 year old grandchild who can read the
story and by my 2 year old grandchild who loves to point out the kitty cat, the mouse, the horse, etc. This book is timeless
and will make a lovely gift for years to come.

SIDE NOTE, and true story: I bought this book unknowingly about two days after Norm died. I read the book, then a week later I did a google search to see if he had any other books written, and to find out his address -- this is when I found out that he had died the week before. I didn't get the chance to contact him and give him hearty praise for his book. I hadn't seen or communicated with Norm since I left Beulah in April of '81. Strange that I should order his book, read it, enjoy it, then find out about his death shortly after. Norm was always a fascinating and wonderful individual, even after his death. He gave great advice and was kind to all. He really made a difference.
