Love, love, love this book! We get it from the library all the time, for our 2-yr-old son. He loves "I spy" books, and even more when they are fun, thought-provoking pictures like this. At first, we just hurried to M so he could say in 2yo speak "Who wearin' mustache?" for each page building from M. Now, we use it for learning letter sounds and numbers, since he can count and find the three Apples on each page, and practice L-lamb and SN-snake. It's not too challenging to count to 3, but very fun.
And, I love the book just as much. It seems you can always find a hidden silly surprise you didn't notice before.
I can't wait til it comes back in stock! This is definitely a new classic.

My 6 year old and 3 year old love this book! We never get tired of looking at it and all the wonderful illustrations. It really keeps the kids attention and engages them in the book...they are always looking for something new when we look through it. I buy this for all of our friends kids. A definite must have!

this book is great to teach kids the alphabet. the pictures are sometimes odd for the letter (such as M is for moustache) but overall my son really likes this book. It is very clear as when you open the book, the letter is on the left page and the picture is on the right page (for example: the letter A is on the left, and on the right page you see apples) The right page also opens up to each object being arranged differently in the scene and eventually all objects that represent a letter are all in the room, making sometimes silly scenes that kids enjoy.

My first copy of Baby 411 was a gift from a girlfriend. I have referenced the book countless times since our little girl was born 2 months ago. I truly appreciate that the questions are relevant, the answers simple, yet informative, and never condescending. I purchased this set as a gift for a girlfriend who recently delivered a baby. This set is my new "go-to" gift for new and expectant moms.

These books were recommended to me by our pediatrician and I am so glad they were. A perfect reference book for anything you can think of in regards to your child. I have read both volumes from cover to cover and refer to them whenever I am curious as to what is going on! These are written in a very entertaining way and are quickly read. Great Shower gift!

Not just for babies

My daughter, nearly three, picked Baby Dance out of the library on her own. She has insisted on having it sung to her every night for the past three weeks. She's at the "why" stage of life -- so rather than just enjoy the pictures, she's also questioning the plot: why is the baby sad (at the beginning)? and observing "look, the mama's awake! (at the end). The book is a really sweet take on something all too familiar -- a baby's distress that mama's not always available -- but with a lovely message that dada can make baby smile, too!

you'll read it again and again

This book is so lovely and my 5 month old daughter beamed the first time she saw it. The poem is simple and the pictures are so sweet. The daddy swings the baby girl all around as her tears turn into laughter. It reminds me of how my daughter and my husband play together....maybe it reminds my daughter of her daddy too! Love it!

My daughter loved this book as a baby. We had it out of the library so many times, I bought it when she was 10 months old. Her 3 year old brother and I both learnt it by heart from singing it to her every night. She still really likes it at 21 months old, though now we don't read it every night. I love the illustrations that show the real movement of the baby up and down, round and round, and of course that one can sing the whole book.

My mother gave me the Baby Dear book in a special time in my life, it was when my baby sister was born on in 1978. Now, she has a daughter and is adopting a baby that will be born on December 2nd, which is also a little girl, and because I have loved my copy of Baby Dear and I still have it! It is so worn that the back cover finally tore off, and I need to figure out a way to attach it back, other than that the book is in pretty good shape to be my age. I thought because she will soon have a baby sister which she is looking forward to having, that if I could find her very own copy of Baby Dear because I read it to her even though she is reading now, and she loved it! I thought I read somewhere that it was out of Print. If that is the case I have no idea where I am going to find her a copy unless I pass on my copy of the book, that mom gave when they brought my sister home from the hospital! This was my favorite book, and it still is, and I know my niece would feel the same way.

I bought this book for my daughter about 1974. She loved it and wore out the first copy, so I bought another. Around 1986 I bought my niece the same book and she loved it. Now I have grandchildren and they are enjoying it as well. It makes bringing another baby into the home easier for an older child to relate and really feel like they are helping and doing things just like Mommy.

This book touches me deeply...

I absolutely LOVED this book as a child!! I had older siblings that I would ask to read it to me until I had it memorized! I then taught myself to read by comparing the words to those in my memory and moved on to read other books - at the age of 4! When I was 5 years old my little brother was born. I remember a time when my mother was changing my little brother and I brought my doll in and layed her next to him to do the same. I then quoted a comment from the book: "Mommy changes her baby, and I change mine!" It was so wonderful for me to copy my mother's love for her own baby ("Mommy's baby is my baby brother. Maybe someday I'll let my brother play with Baby Dear."). I found a brand new copy in a store a few years back and have it saved. I didn't realize that it was out of print! It would be great if I still had my old copy - I bet it was worn! I wanted to get a copy for my 1 year old niece who is already showing favoritism with her other books. It would be nice if she were to use memorization as a tool to help her learn to read as well. Keep in mind... no matter how frustrating it is that your child wants to hear the same book read over and over, or watch the same movie... their little minds are hard at work!! I'm 26 years old and looking at this book still gets to me! The illustrations are ADORABLE and the story is so en"dear"ing!!

I have always loved "Baby Dear"

Growing up, I loved reading stories with my mother. My very favorite by far was (and still is) Eloise Wilkin's "Baby Dear." The story of a young girl and her doll is delightful for children of all ages. This book meant so much to me that I would take it to bed with me at night and sleep with it as if it were a beloved animal. My current copy is so worn that it had to be taped. I now have a one month-old niece with whom I would like to share this beautiful story. Although it is taking some time, I hope to find a copy of "Baby Dear" so that she can love it as much as I did.

A sweet, gentle story for our fast-paced, frantic lifestyle.

I bought this book second hand for my daughter who became a big sister five months ago. It has become one of her favorites. "Big sister" books are plentiful these days, but this one is different in that the big sister becomes a "mommy" to her new doll, just as her mother does to the new baby. The illustrations are beautifully detailed and realistic. The story and drawings portray a safe and secure world for a girl moving from only child to big sister. If you don't have a copy of this book, scour the garage sales and second hand bookstores for it. It is worth the effort.

Great book! It keeps my little one entertained. The peek-a-boo flap pages are great for hand-eye coordination skills. As your baby grows, they will appreciate the different textures that this book offers. My baby reads this book almost everyday, and it's truly a book that will grow with your child (instead of your child growing out of the book).

This was overall a pretty good book, but what bugs me is that in almost evary super special, the girls fall in love. They're a little young to be doing that. But I was really impressed by how good the BSCers were with the kids in the bus accident. They talked to them, comforted them and even agreed to bunk with them. I've always thought Kristy was too competitive and a whiney, snobby brat and the 'winter war' proves it. It seems as though she just has to win EVERYTHING! And, okay, so Dawn was born and raised in California, so of course she'd be bad at the winter sports. The kids were wrong to ridicule her. This is a pretty good book, but it will make youi frustrated in some parts.

Did your school ever take a field trip to Vermont in the winter? Stoneybrook Middle School has. In this book, there are many problems. One of them is that Kristy and Claudia are being really competitive and mean to each other. They get more competitive each day. At the end of the book, they forgive each other. The conflict is best friend vs. best friend.

There are many characters in this book- all girls. And they are trying to help their team win the Winter War. (a field day)
Dawn is having trouble with her skills. She has long, pale blonde hair and blue eyes. Kristy has shoulder length brown hair, brown eyes and is short for her age. She is also the captain of her team for the Winter War. Mary-Anne has really short blonde hair, brown eyes, and is also short for her age. She is also writing a report about the trip. Claudia has long, jet black hair, brown almond shaped eyes, and is Japanese-American. Stacey has curly blonde hair, blue eyes, and has diabetes. When she goes skiing, she has some boy problems.

This book tells how five girls fight, forgive, and have fun. The author's message is to be competitive but, have fun. I rate this book a five star because Ann M. Martin writes chapters from different character's points of view.

I loved this book, and have read it alot, but the only thing I think is that Jessi should get over herself! Its annoying because she thinks Pinky (who is about SIX) is predjuduced, just because she's being mean to her. I mean, come on! I didn't like that bit because it is really annoying how she thinks anyone who does anything that isnt nice is treating her like that because she's black. I don't think that was especially true. But basically it was a good book. Claudia and Stacey both fall head over heals with french skiers, the only thing is- Claudia's "guy" is married! Kristy is captain of the Red team, and gets to competitive. Meanwhile, a whole busload of kids have been stranded in the snow, and the BSC decided to take them on. It was a good book!

Meanwhile, the Baby-Sitters are having a blast! What kind of vacation did they exactly have? Read this book and find out!

This is a GREAT product. I am really impressed. Even though the product is intended for 0-2 year olds, I bought it for my 26 month old son who has a mandarin-speaking babysitter. I am so happy I did. The CD is basically what I hoped for. Lots of great songs and rhymes, but what I didn't expect was how great the booklet that accompanies it would be. It shows how well researched and organized they were when they put this product together. I have been teaching Chinese graduate students English as a Second Language for 10 years and I'm convinced if they had had this product as babies and toddlers their perception and production of English would be better today. You will not be disappointed!

This CD has great audio quality and great content. My girls like it just fine. I didn't give it 5 stars because I feel, as a native Chinese Madarin speaker, some of the musical arrangements are kind of weird. Also, some of the nursery rhymes that I grew up with are butchered (either incomplete or completely changed). But overall, it's a great first CD for the little ones to be exposed to the language.

My daughter is now 5 and can read any Biscuit book w/o help. She even chose one for her first book report in kindergarten. A definite for all children ages 2-6.

They have to be seen to be appreciated. Call us juvenile, but we laughed until we cried. I'm buying one for home, and more for gifts! Thanks, Biscuit!

I'm interested in early development (i.e. even for my newborn). I've had many other mothers recommend CDs and videos such as Baby Einstein, but liked the higher interaction that reading books provides. Also, I'm a first time mother, so I'm really walking into new territory. Bonding with Baby books offer the kind of guidance I'm looking for.
